Felt more information on pick up is essential especially tide times and phone numbers. Felt the kids hanging around , chatting and cleaning was not representative of the company. They looked feed up and even a manger was moaning at the them in front of us.
Overall could experience but cleanliness and information let you down.”

“We had a great experience with Barnes, we were advised they were cheaper than most boat hire in the area. We booked a small boat for the two of us. The lad showing us the controls and safety factors was very good, the boat we had hired was a diesel and as such quite noisy, asked him if we could swap to an electric boat which he did with no problem. Had a great few hours cruising up and down the Broads. Highly recommend”

“The service from all concerned is, as always, 10/10. I have to say that this year’s boat was really showing its age and mileage at the hands of The Public. I feel she may be in need of a full refit. We didn’t appreciate fully the access issues we’d be presented with. I have an injured knee and my wife is also challenged having just received news she is in remission from cancer.
The steps in and out are apx 1.5x the height of normal steps as are the ones to The Flying Bridge. This access is also very narrow and you must turn sideways to get your shoulders through. Had I been a teenager I’d have shrugged these inconveniences off but I’m not so it was a constant problem. You live and learn.
Nevertheless, I have little doubt that we will be booking again!”
“Great fun day out. We hired the Brinkley for 4 hours and got up to St Benets Abbey where we moored for a lovely picnic lunch. The Broads were beautiful, boat very easy to handle - although we should probably have gone for the electric option as our diesel boat was quite noisy. Staff were very helpful. Would recommend.”

“We had a great holiday but the boat was not as described. The floor plan was very misleading. Two of the “double” beds were not suitable for 2 people. None of us are large so I don’t know how anyone bigger than us would have managed.”

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re pleased to hear that you had a great holiday overall. We’re sorry, however, that the sleeping arrangements were not as you expected.
Your booking was made through Hoseasons, whose listing does not currently include the same level of detail and photography as our own website. On our website, we show the actual sleeping areas and explain that some berths may be undersized and unsuitable for an all-adult party, asking guests to check with us before booking if berth size is particularly important.
That said, we appreciate that the floor plan gave you a different impression of the double berths. We will review this with Hoseasons and look at how the layout and sleeping arrangements can be described more clearly, so future guests can make a fully informed choice. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
