“Excellent boat, company and will definitely be returning. Only issue is would raise is if you are going to provide a hoover pls can it work!.. 2 dogs and a baby really could do with a hoover with suction or at the very least a sweeping brush. Otherwise, i cannot fault it.”
“Back from a week’s break at Topsail and unfortunately, the whole experience was rather disappointing. The relaxing holiday that was planned in what appeared to be a lovely tranquil & quiet setting was far from the truth…The property, along with the other 4 adjoining properties was situated in a very busy working boat yard. 5:15am wake-up call by the industrial refuge lorry…7:00am wake-up call by the laundry wagon…7:30-800am wake-up call by staff arriving at the main office across the yard, only 30 metres away…8:00am to 4:30pm constant use of a hydraulic hammer used to repair the metal defence panels was sole destroying.Thankfully, it was me and my son who suffered mainly as we had the 2 bedrooms overlooking the yard. The view from the other side was beautiful and clearly used for advertisement purposes!! The whole place needs a really good fettle by a domestic who’s passionate about cleanliness…and it’s quite ironic that we were waiting over 30 minutes before we could enter the place in order to allow ‘cleaning’ to be completed???It may as well be mentioned also that both the tin opener & scissors positioned amongst the other kitchen utilities were not fit for purpose, albeit the tin opener was replaced upon reques. Overall, a very disappointing experience, which I would give 4/10…fair to say, as a family of 7, we won’t be returning nor recommending. Gutted & disgruntled ‘customer’ 😔”
We’re sorry to hear your stay at Topsail didn’t meet expectations. Our adverts do make clear that the cottages are based in a busy working boatyard, which many guests enjoy, but we appreciate this isn’t for everyone. We’re especially disappointed by your comments on cleanliness, as we usually receive excellent feedback here. A quick word with reception would have allowed us to resolve this straight away. “The staff were very helpful although there were only two of them to get all the boats out on the water. The Sunrise launch we hired was a bit tired if I’m honest but we had a great time. We could not get the stove working and reported this to the staff. They checked it and the regulator wasn’t fitted correctly. I did try the regulator as a last ditch attempt to get the gas flowing after spending 10 minutes with no joy. I think next time we may well try an electric vessel as the engine noise does detract from your immersive nature experience.
All said and done, we all had a great day out on the Broads.”

“Easy to book online. A concern I had immediately after booking was resolved when they opened the following day at 8am meaning we could proceed with our booking at 10am. Check-in and briefing very efficient and we were on our way. Four hours was perfect for a trip to Horning and a late breakfast. Would highly recommend.”
