“Sadly, our holiday was cancelled due to covid, so this review is about the planning/booking stage of the holiday. I contacted Balkan Escape in December '19 because my elderly mum wanted a special holiday in Croatia, and I needed specialist advice. Jack at Balkan Escape immediately seemed to 'get' what we were after, and he put together a wonderful package covering Dubrovnic, Korcula and Split. The fact that he could speak with knowledge about the hotels and travel arrangements meant so much, we trusted him implicitly, and were so much looking forward to our holiday. Every time I contacted Balcan Escape I got a reply on the day, and the few changes we made to the itiniary was dealt with swiftly. Our plans were complicated by the fact that my mum was flying in from Oslo, and me from the UK, but Jack had his head around all the flight schedules and possibilities straight away. Extremely curteous, efficient and trustworthy, totally professional. Sadly our holiday was not to be this year, hopefully we will be able to go another time, and will definitely book with Balkan Escape again!”

“All the team were very understanding and helpful. Nothing in the planning for our holiday was too much trouble, then came Covid. No holiday and no problem at all getting a full credit back to our card. The holiday will be re-instated next year Covid permitting. A brilliant and honorable company to deal with. A real credit to their owners.”

“Having never visited Croatia we only had a vague idea of where to go but after talking it through with Jack he was able to advise us on the kind of holiday we were looking for. He was very helpful and knowledgeable and we think if we'd booked the holiday independantly we wouldn't have made the right choices for us. “Last week (9 Oct 2019) we went on a four night trip to Dubrovnik and Spilt which we booked through Balkan Escape. From the first enquiry, Jack from Balkan provided an excellent service, swiftly coming up with a number of options for us to consider with regard to our trip which was really useful, with the options all being good value for money and it helped us determine what we wanted our trip to comprise of. The booking process was easy and everything was done by email. The holiday totally met all of our requirements; the accommodation provided was excellent and the transfers that were organized were really good with us being the only passengers in new and very clean and comfortable vehicles. Jack was even able to organize excellent weather for us! In all, the service provided by Balkan was excellent, with no areas required for improvement and we would certainly use them again and recommend them to other travellers. Thanks for an epic holiday!”

“Our holiday was a 3 site holiday of Split, Korcula and Dubrovnik. We were delighted with all 3 destinations. All hotels were of a high standard of comfort and cleanliness and all staff were helpful and friendly. They were all situated within easy reach of the main attractions.All flights and transfers went like clockwork, apart from last taxi transfer on the last day to Dubrovnik airport, but this was resolved by the hotel staff. We were very happy with the personal service we received from Jack Fleming. He went out of his way to answer any of our questions before we left. Our holiday exceeded our expectations and we would not hesitate to use Balkan Escape again, and would recommend the company to family and friends.”

“All travel and transfer arrangements were very good. Hotel Lapad in Dubrovnik was brilliant, but a bit out of town. Hotel Marul in Split was not so good, our room was in the eaves and it was hard to walk upright in most of the room. Also, the clothes storage was poor. Nowhere to hang dresses for ladies! There were other inconveniences too, e.g. nowhere to plug in a kettle except on the floor. However the owner himself met us from the ferry. Good service! Also the location was great. Balkan Escape provided a very good service. All queries were dealt with promptly, efficiently and courteously. I would book through Balkan Escape again, and would definitely recommend it.”

“We can highly recommend Balkan Escape. Our recent holiday to Croatia was great with the flights, transfers and hotels all arranged for us and everything went smoothly and as expected. We would certainly use Balkan Escape again and have already recommended them to friends and family. Just one item to note, nearly all the passenger-only catamaran ferries in Dubrovnik and Split have no outside areas, so if you're prone to sea sickness, pack you travel sickness tablets or, if available, use the car ferries which do have outside areas, but take longer!”

“It was good to be given a choice of hotels in the resorts we chose and some help to make up our minds! Staff at both our hotels, Bol on Brac and in Split were friendly, helpful and efficient - a delight! Private transfers certainly lessen any stress and were all on time with no problems. To be able to sort out any worries in advance with the office is a bonus. I would use Balkan Travel again and would have no problem recommending them to to others (and have done)”
