“BEAUTIFUL SPECIMENS OF HELLEBORES IN FULL FLOWER. AN ABSOLUTE DELIGHT TO BOTH MYSELF AND ANJULI WHO WAS PARTICULARLY TAKEN WITH THE BLOWSY YELLOW BLOOMS OF THE ASHWOOD HELLEBORE STRAIN THAT TURNED UP ON HER DOORSTEP.YELLOW HELLEBORES ARE AN ASHWOOD SPECIAL AND SHE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED RECEIVING ONE. I AM ENJOYING WATCHING A DOUBLE STRAIN OF ASHWOOD HELLEBORE WITH SALMON PINK DOUBLE FLOWERS BOBBING AROUND IN THE BREEZE ON TOP OF MY STONE TROUGHS WHILST I THINK ABOUT WHERE TO PUT IT IN THE GARDEN WHERE THE PONIES WON'T BE ABLE TO REACH IT. THE GREEN FLOWERING HELLEBORE HAS ENORMOUS FLOWERS AND GIVES ME A NOD EVERY TIME I ARRIVE HOME. THAT ONE WILL BE STAYING BY MY FRONT DOOR. NOT SO LARGE YET THAT IT NEEDS PLANTING OUT. FIRM STRONG PACKAGING MEANT THAT THE PLANTS ARRIVED WITHOUT THE LOSS OF A SINGLE BLOOM. TO BE TACKLED WITH A PAIR OF SCISSORS. I RECOMMEND CUTTING DOWN THE SIDE OF THE BOX RATHER THAN TRY TO LIFT THE FLOWERING PLANTS OUT.”
