Your business plan might be great and could really work very well, but after a year of subscription I can tell that, I have never seen anything more chaotic then your services. I have spent countless hours trying to resolve troubles I had with those boxes [the fact they were always late was the least] 3 of 4 boxes came in half destroyed, my contact details were messed up all the time so I had to contact our delivery services to fix that for you because all you had for me was "we are sorry" Well great, I am sorry, I did not paid for this! Penultimate box was the biggest pain of my online shopping life guys. At the beginning I was so happy that you are doing this helping people get more creative, artsy and help them develop skills. I never got a cent back for all the troubles, not that it matters that much, but you should really start value your clients and knowing you screwed something up it would be great to at least do something about it! I hope there is not more people with such experience. Just be ready for excuses, not solutions.

My first impression was good and I like most of the products. However, recently I was promised to be sent a screen print box after artful had issues charging my PayPal. After a lot of emails back and forth they confirmed they sent the box, with me reminding them about the right box just 3 days earlier. However, once I received it it was the wrong box, the pencil one that I really don’t want. Instead of solving the issue, they wanted me to pay for the return, and as a EU member it’s very costly. I already pay more for delivery and customs, so I was really disappointed with their attitude about sending the wrong box and not resolving it. I paid £47 for the wrong box, and to have the right box sent to me I’d pay another £25, making the box very expensive and me paying for their mistake. I was going to buy top up boxes and all sorts, but now I cancelled my membership and I’ll never recommend them again. They sadly don’t care about their customers. They justify it with that my payment should have been in February to be sent the screen print box, however they never told me that and it’s poor to do so retrospectively. We emailed plenty with both account and PayPal issues so they had many opportunities to tell me I couldn’t get the box. We EU customers are dedicated since it cost us a lot more and the delivery is over a month, so I’d expect decent customer care the least.

Please, accept our sincere apologies for the disappointment that has been caused by the colouring pencils box you have received and the service. After taking a look through the email thread, I can see that our team mentioned as early as our first email response that the Screen Printing boxes would be running from December 21 to February 22 and that all orders after that date within March would be for our brand new box (colouring pencils) launching in that month. I apologise however if this information wasn't clear to yourself. Our team has been in touch again today via help@ohhdeer.com so we can find the best solution to this problem for you. The last thing we want is for you to miss out on a box that you really wanted to get. I can assure you that our aim is to always find the best solution for our customers to any issues that arise. Low quality art supplies. Difficulty cancelling subscription for auto renew. Cancelling failed and it auto renewed again. Contacted on the day and requested full refund. Auto reply said it could take 48 hours to hear back. According to their FAQ that could mean I won't receive a full refund. I cancelled my subscription for auto renew last year when I received the first box. Can't even cancel the subscription that just renewed despite following their FAQ guide.

Was very let down by this kit. The first video project called 'Rainbow' requires a water pen to blend the colours and is not included in the kit? I contacted Artful who said 'you don't have to use a water pen' even though it is required in the very first tutorial? #Artful #Tombow

Overpriced and underwhelming. Other subscription boxes offer far greater value and products. Artful's justification for their inflated price is the lengthy magazine included so if you're after an expensive art mag subscription then maybe this is for you. They also sell this as having access to skill share and online tutorial videos- after searching high and low and even emailing to ask how to access skillshare I received no answer. The YouTube videos consist of 3 5min videos so again hardly justified.

The 3 months free trial to Skillshare was exclusive to edition one, this was the first box available back in March 2020. The team work extremely hard on each box to ensure subscribers received a variety of high valued art supplies, along with a very detailed magazine. Within the price paid, subscribers also have access to online monthly tutorials, to help build confidence and skills with the suppliers within the boxes.
