“I think it's really great but I skipped the last 2 boxes, because I think it's starting to be more of the same. And especially just a box of pencils will not get me excited to pay such a big amount of money. I still like the lino box the most, because that was truly something different than painting or drawing. I like this subscription so I can try things that are totally new, but painting with watercolor or gouache doesn't seem that different to me.”

“I loved every box I've got. Materials are always very good and right for beginners. My only issues are that in every box we always get the same 4 greeting cards and basic stationary that you can easily find in every house or in every stationary shop (without paying any shipment, that here in Italy gets to 10€, and leaves me a damaged box almost everytime).”

“I love receiving the boxes and feel that they are mostly good value. I didn't think the pencil one was such good value though. I'm looking forward to trying gouache and I hope there will be a box on oil painting. i enjoy the tutorials as well”

“I love the quality and the variety of the supplies. Unfortunately, as would be expected, some boxes are of much more interest to me than others. I would be very interested in tiered skill level boxes where if you weren’t interested in the newest box you could choose to select an intermediate or advanced level box in a previous medium like soft pastel or watercolor.”

“Material of excellent quality. Perfect service. Of course Some boxes I do like better than others. Loved the watercolour, Lino print en ink box. The screen printing box is my least favourite.”

“Great to have a pastel box and I enjoyed Lewis' tutorials. The box itself was very beautiful. I liked the range of colours but I didn't like the paper in the box hence the4 not 5 stars. I found it improved if I gave it a background of pastel flakes by a scalpel and brushed on then sealed with fixative. On the whole I was very pleased with the box and am pleased to add it to my collection of artful boxes.”

“Really great, just wishing for a few more "traditional" art themes (the sketching and pastels and watercolours were great, is there any chance for more paint ones??)”

“Like a previous reviewer, I've enjoyed every Artful box so far except for the soft pastels, which I find tricky to use. Generally, the quality of the materials is excellent and is beautifully packaged. However, the paper provided with the pastel box didn't seem to work well with the pastels and I found the watercolour paper included in the previous box was not great quality. I would rather have an A5 rather than an A4 pad or less paper but better quality. I seem to have accumulated reams of the stuff now as I've ended up buying my own paper. I also agree that the tutorials in the latest magazine are deeply uninspiring as are the bonus online tutorials (sorry Lewis!). Artful tutorials used to be so much better - challenging but achievable. More recent ones are on a level that my ten year old can do them. I am waiting to see what the next box offers but I think I may be coming to the end of my Artful journey.”

“Love the boxes but the subjects in the tutorials don’t appeal to me . I am not artistic enough to create my own !”

“The products and tutorials are absolutely wonderful. Its a very encouraging and inclusive culture and I found the books included in the box inspiring. Thankfully the boxes don't come every month as I haven' t found as much time as I would like to really get stuck in to trying out new skills.”

“I love everything! 1 point deduction, because I would love it even more if there was a bit more diversity between painterly and craftsy stuff. The acrylic ink and the watercolors now felt a lot in the same vein. I joined because of the lino box, enjoyed everything since then, but crave something like macramee, sculpting or maybe even knitting.”
