“I had the double pump on short term loan from my local BreastStart so I already knew it was a good pump before I bought my own. I have been expressing for 4.5 months and find the pump very effective, reliable, easy to use &, crucially, easy to clean. I felt it offered good value for money when compared with other pumps on the market. A good choice overall & satisfying that my baby can still benefit from breastmilk even though she has always struggled with breastfeeding.”

“Brilliant. I couldn't rate or thank you all enough. I'm exclusively expressing and needed a pump fast as my previous hospital grade double pump (worth £250) had stopped working (for the second time). The pump arrived fast, with tracking so I knew exactly when it would arrive so I didn't have to wait in with my 10 week old. The pump is more than described. Small, easy to use and transport and very quiet. It had increased my milk from 26oz per day to over 40oz within a week of use. The only down sides that I have is that it needs 6 aa batteries to use out when out of the house (my old one charged overnight). I can live with this negative for the increase in milk and the compact design. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.”

“I felt pressured into getting the digital pump machine (the more expensive option) by the sales person. I wish that I'd stick to my guns and gone for the cheaper option that would have been similar to the pump I used when I was in hospital. So I ended up returning it barely used and have stuck to using the Medela Swing. I found the digital pump wasn't user friendly.”

“In the past year I have bought the Ardo Calypso double pump, the freezer storage bags, the bottle set and the microwave sterilising bags. It is noticeable that all these ardo products are really well designed and simple to use. I've got a huge amount of use out of them all. The microwave bags are brilliant for taking on holiday but I've also been using them at home as it's so quick and easy. And not least of all the pump saved me from developing mastitis on several occasions! The only drawback I've found is that the pump is tricky to use as a double, so I just ended up using it as a single. But I imagine this would be the case with any brand of pump.”

“Brilliant quiet well built pump, kindly and efficient customer services. The only development I would like to see is on the expressed baby milk delivery end of the process. The bottles supplied with the kit are small and old fashioned and do not come with their own teats. I would like to see Ardo develop their own modern bottle/teat combinations that mimic the performance of a mother's breast, especially for when baby is at the 0+ stage of feeding and life. I spent a great deal of time trying to find a teat that would.. a.) fit directly to the Ardo bottles, to avoid decanting/double handling/washing up - these are old style "standard" 25mm diameter neck size, and of greatest importance to my baby.. b.) slow enough to make him work as he does on the breast, instead of monstering 100ml in one go then burping half of it back up again! We are on our fifth bottle/teat combo in as many weeks, and are currently having very good results with the Haberman Suckle Feeder. For now I will pass over in silence concerning the other four "slow flow" teat designs, unless you would like to get back to me on this. I have a background in design and engineering, and baby is not inclined to colic, and hopefully never will be.”

Hi John, thanks for your review – the reason we don’t supply teats is because we are WHO (World Health Organisation) Code compliant. The code states that teats and feeding bottles may have a negative effect on the duration of breast feeding. The bottles supplied are made to allow for a standard neck teat which can be purchased from most supermarkets and pharmacists.

“Although I purchased a faulty machine, ardo has replaced mine with a new working breastpump right away. Staff in Taunton are very helpful, i highly recommend this pump as I have been using it since day 1. Baby is now 7 months and still going strong. They provide good garauntee if your machine breaks or faulty.”

“I visited Ardo at Taunton whilst pregnant on the recommendation of my best friend who experienced fantastic customer service whilst she was facing many problems breast feeding. She felt the service from Irene and the actual Ardo pump she bought turned her feeding experience around completely from negative to positive. I wanted to be armed Incase I came up against any problems which I quickly did as I had Cystic breasts that clogged with any small pressure after much self torture trying to make breast feeding work I finally unpacked my Calypso double pump which Irene had previously talked me through with great care and it saved me from the pain and anguish I was feeling. The calypso was fantastic, easy to use, quiet, efficient and able to use on the go with batteries. I also purchased some freezer bags, cream, pads and other products and delivery was the next day and all products the same outstanding quality. I felt comfortable that I could pick up the phone if i needed to but actually the pump was so easy to use I never had to. I was also given a few freebies which made me feel so valued. I wax lyrical about this product and the service I received and in fact 3 of the lovely ladies I meet at Antenatal classes are visiting the milk bar to see Irene tomorrow on my recommendation. My husband even recommends this product as it gave him a happy wife again and it gave my daughter a calm and healthy mummy and the breast milk I wanted her to have. Thank you so much”

“I used the bigger version of this breast pump during my stay on the maternity ward. I had also used the Medela breast pump but preferred using Ardo's. I ordered the calypso double pump version to save time when I was home. There also wasn't much difference in the price between the single and double pump and so it worked out more cost effective to buy the double pump version. The pump is quite quiet when in use. It is easy to assemble and is light weight. Therefore it can easily be picked up and used in any room you may want to feed in. It's also handy that it can be operated via the mains or by battery. This is especially useful if you are away from home and needing to express. The pump is comfortable and easy to use. The double pump comes with cleaning brush, 2 bottles and different size breast shields. I highly recommend this breast pump. The only negatives are that it should come with a carry case/bag and also more than 2 bottles.”

“I had used the Ardo Carum Hospital grade pump whilst my daughter was in PICU and was so impressed with it that I wanted an Ardo pump for home. I chose the Calypso double and am very pleased with my purchase (in fact I prefer it to the hospital one). The pump's settings allow me to set the cycle and vacuum independently to what I need, the pump itself is very quiet and easy to keep clean. Exactly what I needed and I'd highly recommend this pump.”

“I bought the double pump and it is brilliant. Easy to change from single to double pump depending on what you need. Quick to set up once I worked out what to do. Really quiet! It can be tricky to adjust the settings when both pumps are on-but manageable. Love the next day delivery!”

“We had to return this pump 2 times within the space of two weeks. It basically just conked out, gave up the ghost. We were told on each occasion by the company that this had never happened before. Really?”
