Very efficient and their reports were easy to read. Chris was really helpful, even though he got covid.

I chose Allcott cos of the following reasons. 1. During the pre engagement phase when I was narrowing down to which surveyor I would select, I received a response, from one of the Partners. For me that demonstrated that they took every enquiry seriously. 2. This prompt attention to every enquiry has been sustained. At anytime, you ask, you get a response within a few minutes or within a few hours. Most reassuring. At least you know where you are. 3. Cost was reasonable compared to other surveyors 4. They were able to demonstrate that their surveyors had the required accreditations. 5. I was especially concerned about the safety of the structure of the building, as it was an older building, and they seemed to, from their related business, have a focus on this. Survey - level 3 was booked, paid for, and actually performed the survey, about a week before the scheduled date due to an opportunity which arose in their calendar. From the booking date to the survey date was just under a month, as it does seem that surveyors are quite busy - I wonder why, thought there was a lull in house buying due to high mortgage interest rates? I received the electronic copy of the survey about a week after, and I am satisfied that it contained enough information about most areas of concern, and it had very specific guidance which I needed to pass on to our solicitors. I am sure, that the layout of the document could be improved to make it even easier to understand, but I'd score the report 7 out of 10. Some of the language was a bit tough to decipher - things like fenestration instead of window opening - thank God I did French for O levels !. But its like everything in life, there should always be room for improvement. If I had to do a survey again, anywhere which was in an area which Allcott was able to cover, I would certainly consider Allcot Associates. Definitely recommended by me, on an objective basis of a service which they delivered as expected, not much to complain about, unless I was being nit pickery...

Allcott Associates were able to accommodate me within a reasonable timeframe, conducted the survey we agreed, competently, and return a full report promptly. This has been very helpful.

Allcotts were really easy to make contact with and organise the survey. There was a delay in getting the survey as the person developed covid on the original date and was then fully booked so had to wait a few weeks to reschedule but they kept in contact and arranged for very prompt delivery of the report. Very professional and friendly.

Everything pretty much in order, the surveyor called me after the survey was completed as I was unable to attend due to Covid-19 restrictions. He also helpfully called me back when I left a voicemail requesting some further info. The report was detailed. The only issue I had was when I phoned up to book, I was told I the survey would probably be "in the second week of February", but it ended up on the 23rd. A minor issue but at that point it was slowing things down when the original stamp duty holiday deadline of the end of March was coming up.
