“I recently engaged Allcott’s for an L3 building survey, and I must commend the surveyor assigned to my property, Paul C. His professionalism, expertise, and dedication were immediately evident. Paul C not only conducted a thorough examination of the property but also identified a significant issue. This ultimately led to the collapse of the transaction, saving me tens of thousands of pounds in potential repair costs. His detailed report, along with his clear explanations, made the risks and issues very apparent. Paul C went above and beyond by making himself available for several telephone calls, always taking the time to address any questions or concerns I had. Even while he was undertaking the survey, he was kind enough to make time to discuss some of the initial findings with me. This level of customer service and communication was truly appreciated. However, while I was thoroughly impressed with Paul C’s work, I did find the pricing practices of the firm to be somewhat frustrating. Despite providing all the necessary details upfront, the firm altered the pricing several times, which detracted from an otherwise smooth experience. In summary, Paul C’s exceptional work and willingness to engage with me throughout the process made a difficult situation much easier to navigate. I would highly recommend him for anyone in need of a thorough and reliable building survey. That said, the firm could improve its pricing transparency to match the high level of service provided by their surveyors.”

“The quality of the report following our Lvl3 Building Survey was generally poor. Very repetitive information, appearing to cover their PI than actually provide a concise detailed summary of any issues. Any recommendations to remedial works were generally very ambiguous. Numerious issues were missed, which has since been identified (and should have easily been recorded at the time of the survey) by someone who has no building surveying experience. Cannot knock the communication for the admin team, brilliant throughout, and the timely receipt of the report, albeit, not to a standard that was expected. Price was competitive.”

Dear Jonathan, I am sorry that you were not completely satisfied with the report provided. I have had a review of the report and found it to be extremely detailed whilst also identifying costs for repairs in the region of £13,000. The property is relatively modern and therefore, there is always going to be a degree of repetitiveness due to similar materials having been used throughout. “It’s reassuring to deal with professionals with knowledge skills and are willing to be helpful after dealing with estate agents in a house purchase! I found both the 2 individual surveyors (Philip Holman and Chris Dustain) that were allocated to carry out the surveys from Alcott’s in searching for a house (we had to pull out of the first one) to be very helpful in explaining their surveys even months after the survey. We were able to email and speak to them to clarify our understanding. it’s disappointing to learn that some things aren’t covered and recommend getting more specialists in to assess (eg a valley roof) but I understand from a friend that surveyors cover things generally like GP and specialists are recommended if something might need more investigation.”

“I have had a great experience, my surveyor has gone above and beyond. His name is David Clare, and he clarified in my mind my path forward. He put to me all the pros and cons , and left the decision up to me. I have found my whole experience with Allcott Associates an easy one from start to finish, and I cannot recommend them highly enough, from David to the office staff that contacted me, a hassle free process. Thank you all.”
