“The assessment was completed thoroughly and all aspects of this and the findings were explained to me as we went along. Both staff members were relaxed, friendly and attentive throughout and I enjoyed the process.”

“Returning customer, made an appointment over the phone for a gait analysis and bio mechanical assessment. I travel from Reading, so checked the model of trainer I wanted was in stock and was assured of this. Turned up at 12: staff were busy and someone else in an appointment. Wasn’t informed of this beforehand or how long wait would be - instead member of staff acted as if I didn’t need assessment as I had had it before. Was given trainers to try - not the Brooks model I wanted, as they were not in stock. This was surprising given the assurance from the day before. Received no technical insight from staff member, only a poor sales tactic you’d expect of Sport Soccer, not a specialist shop. Could have ordered shoes in with 7-10 day lead time, but I can receive the same service just ordering online for cheaper. Extremely disappointed - I try to support companies like Alexandra Sports as they provide an important, specialist service - one usually worth travelling for. Doubtful I’ll make another appointment.”

“Unfortunately, the assessment I had was not helpful at all. They used a walking pressure test and a barefoot running test, then used that to suggest I land heavy on my heels. When running in shoes, however, my gait is completely different to walking and I don't heel strike at all. Barefoot running a few steps across a shop and/or walking back and forward don't predict how a person will run in shoes, which should be obvious to anyone who analyses running mechanics. This does not constitute a gait analysis. That said, the main reason I went in was to figure out my correct shoe size. They said I had 'unusually' wide feet and didn't have a single shoe in any style or brand that would fit me. Despite being unable to sell me shoes or even order them for me, they still took my 'deposit' for having my feet measured. It was a waste of money and, I think, quite dishonest. The store has a good reputation, so I was surprised to have this experience.”

“Dawn was absolutley amazing. She had read the history of my back before I had arrived, completed a full analysis of my feet, she helped me understand why the running shoes I had ordered were not suitable for the type of gym work I am doing and instead produced a selection of shows that would be more suitable for my needs......she even understood about me wanting them to look nice! Dawn explained that my tread on each foot is very different and one knee is higher than the other.....I had never noticed this! I am looking forward to trying my shoes out at the gym and am now keen to get walking shoes and work shoes from Alexandra Sport. I don't usually invest in good footwear but I have the feeling this is going to make an enormous difference to my exercise performance and comfort.”

“I cannot fault the service here, twice I left a message on line and each time I had a reply promptly. Very helpful and I would definitely buy from this company in the future. Unfortunately I had return my woman’s Brooks addiction as the size 5 and 5,5 wasn’t wide enough, returned yesterday afternoon and already had an email stating refund already.Would recommend and impressed with great customer service.”
