“Was buying a jacket for my father and used his card and accidentally put my own address as the billing address, so these didn't match due to my mistake. Got an order confirmation email but no jacket arrived. When I contacted customer service a few days later I was told that the payment (most likely due to the mismatching billing addresses) didn't go through and they had cancelled the order. When asked why no one notified me about the cancellation so I could resubmit the order with the correct details, I was arrogantly told that this was company policy to prevent fraud, as you wouldn't tell a fraudster that they were unsuccessful in their fraud. However, I had a email confirming that the payment went through so as a non-fraudulent customer, I think the retailer could have extended me this courtisy so I could have resubmitted the order. I wrote a long email to customer service following this about my poor experience both with the order and the guy on the phone at customer service. Didn't even get a reply. Needless to say I did not try again to buy the jacket and will be using other retailers in the future.”
