Delivered next day.Blown away by the sound of this exhaust fitted to my 91 Roadster. Still have the cat on, was tempted to remove, but sounds just fine with the cat in place.Unable to fit myself as I couldnt get the old exhaust off, so got a local garage to do it. Took them an hour to do it while the car was up on the ramps.Would recommend one of these exhausts to anyone, makes the car sound how it should sound. The only problem I had was my own fault! Why didnt I get one years ago!!

Well kwik fit wanted £180 for a mild steel back box (oh and they wanted to replace the cat at £215 as they said it was an integrated part!), so for £176 this is the bargain of the century. Beautifully made and finished, fitting was very easy, and sounds really great, just a bit more sporty which is exactly what I was after.Getting the old exhaust off the rubbers was quite hard but the easy way is to get a screwdriver inside the hole and simply lever the hanger out of the rubbers. When hanging the box, hang the two rubbers on the offside first, doing the foremost before the rear. It is quite close to the rear towing eye, but on ours doesnt seem to hit. On the front pipe, hang it on the rubbers before engaging the flange on the cat. This is a brilliant exhaust, especially for the money - would give it 6 stars if possible!!!!

The pipe out of the rear box fell off, awful noise, no money or enthusiasm to do the job.Mx5 parts to the rescue with there own stainless steel single exhaust for the mk1 complete with gaskets and all the bolts.WOW, delivered next day to my works address, took it home and 26 minutes later it was on [ OK I am lucky enough to have a pit ] two bolts at the cat to undo, pull off the rubber mounts, the old unit was off, offered the rear box up and hung it on the rubber mounts, hung the front pipe, pasted the front gasket and put the nuts on, same with the back, tightened the bolts up and started the engine. The car is quite, pulls better and has a nice rasp to the exhaust at higher revs, bargain of the year.If you have a standard exhaust, just buy one.Part number SI333

I installed this shortly after installing the silenced cat bypass pipe from MX5 parts. There was no problem with the cat bypass on the original exhaust, but when I added this exhaust it became WAY too loud.At tickover, the exhaust isn't too loud. At 5000 rpm under load, the exhaust sounds great - lovely throaty, slightly raspy sound......at between 3000 and 4500 revs under load, there is a nauseating, eardrum-compressing resonant bass boom. Very loud and very intrusive. The sound itself is cool - there's just way too much of it.I called round various places to see if there was something I can stick in the tailpipe to attenuate the noise, but it seems that nothing is available. I was going to try it with the original cat fitted, but I think I'm going to give up and fit a standard exhaust. The build quality on this exhaust is excellent. It looks great. It sounds great, but it's way too loud in the lower rev range when the throttle is applied. This resonance may not occur if you have a cat fitted.Speed of service from MX5 parts was excellent as always.
