The quality from J Parker used to be brilliant, I am not sure if it is the fact that it takes so long for the product to reach us. I had a few issues with a recent order, plugs with poor root system and bare roots with roots and nothing else. Time to up their game, hoping for better replacement plants as I love delphiniums!

I've had tulip bulbs from Parkers for years and last year I ordered 'City of Vancouver' which I've had before and know to be a lovely soft lemon yellow fading to deep cream. Now they are in flower I can see they are not what I ordered, they are deep egg yolk yellow which some people might like, but I certainly don't. Sadly my daughter's plant orders with Parkers recently have arrived dead, something has happened to the company's quality control and it isn't good.

I ordered 2 trays / 120 cells in each of plug Begonias. When they arrived, there was no bubble wrap to keep them in place and quite a few were out of the cells and dry. No leeway is made for empty cells , damaged or dead plants. You order 240 plants but you do not end up with 240 plants. I managed to pot on 220 plants and I estimate another 10 of those will not survive. I have tried to add a photo to verify this review but a message keeps popping up stating that “we could not upload one of your files please try again later “.

Because of the way they are seeded there is usually quite a few more plants than the 240 as the growers do not thin them out, however we would expect you to have the amount ordered. The plants arrived very poorly packed in one long flimsy cardboard box. Several of the plants were completely wrong and a couple in extremely poor condition - one I am certain will not survive. I have written an e-mail and sent a WhatsApp with photos.

Had a largish order of garden ready perennials but some of them are so pot bound I dont know whether they will survive the unravelling of the roots. Also some bare root plants just seem to be dead roots and a lot of potting compost -its hard to work out which way to plant them out as there's no live growth. The Lupins have several damaged stems plus a lot of dead plant material

Hi Anonymous, Thank you for your review and I am sorry to learn that you are unhappy with our products. At this time of year the young perennials are only just coming out of dormancy. With this in mind they may have, very little if any new top growth but they will have very healthy roots, they may even look rootbound as they have been spending the winter months building up their root system. I can see from the photo you have sent that the roots on the plants are really healthy and with this in mind we would advise you to plant them out. Receive several emails every week and have ordered previously but when trying to order does not accept my email or password and does not work when I try to reset password I have given in trying to order shopped elsewhere

I would have liked to give 5stars but one strawberry plant arrived dead, two plants died 10 days after potting on, two are ok. The Honeyberry plants are thriving.

I think that there may have been a delay with the courier. The herbaceous plants were in a poor condition and one of the anemones looks dead.

One of the plants was a health plant to the stanard we expect but the second was very weak and we do not think it is going to survive.

Hardly as they looked in the photograph. Hellibores had half dead leaves. Geraniums stuffed in a bag so that I couldn't tell one end from another. Tired looking plants that will take months to look good. Aubretia dried out. Ceanothus almost dead - will take months in a pot to look good enough to be planted. I ordered from you in 1988 and swore never again. But after receiving the pachasandra last year which was in good condition, I gave you another chance. A very shabby collection of plants which look nothing like they should or anything like your photograph. I would be glad to have a refund of fifty per cent of the price of these plants. You didn't tell me when you despatched them so I don't know how long they took.

The bare roots were supplied as ordered and planted out immediately. They looked healthy on arrival but all rotted off over the winter. Although mature plants are rated H5 I now note the RHS website recommends "Young plants may need the protection of a greenhouse for their first winter in colder areas." I live in London but suspect a couple of hard frosts killed them. Perhaps the first winter under cover would have saved them.

All plants resembled twigs when delivered (kind of expected for time of year), and they were a little recklessly stacked on top of each other (a couple of twigs had snapped as a result). Only 3 of the 5 plants have shown any signs of life since planting.

Out of ten plants orderd only six actually had plants in them. Being told to wait four weeks for them to grow was not acceptable. If I wanted this I would have planted seeds

Hi Gillian, I am really sorry to learn of your disappointment with your order, it is normal at this stage for perennials not to look their best as last years foliage is not removed and new foliage may not yet of come through or is very sparse. All the plants have very strong root systems which have been checked prior to packing and we recommend planting straight away, once the warmer spring weather starts we would expect them to flourish. Rather disappointed as the plants especially the 4 potentillas look like they will not grow.

I was dissappointed with my order, a number of plants had come out of their pots and were loose in the bottom. Of the 3 Rudibeka's that I ordered 2 were not too bad but one had only a small amout of growth on top and very little roots just two or three small pieces of root. The rose had one of the two stems broken and split half down the length of it, and I have had too cut it back to below this. The box the plants were packed in was not damaged in any way
