About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback on the centre. We truly appreciate your kind words to the staff at Pencoed. In regards to the shower situation, it is particularly busy at the moment as both males and females are sharing the changing rooms. Once they both open back to their individual sex changing area, the traffic and waiting for the use of the showers should subside. Kind Regards, Halo Team.

“Been a member at halo leisure centre for almost 20 years. The gym has drastically improved. The staff are very friendly and always make you feel welcomed. Only area in my opinion which needs attention is their spa. Either a new one or fix the old one.”

“I can't fault either the facilities or the amazing group class leaders who are inspiring, encouraging, professional, kind and fun. The group classes are motivating and I definitely saw and felt results after a few weeks. The only reason I've stopped my membership is that I have health issues which will prevent me attending for a while. I hope to return as soon as I am able, I really miss the morning group sessions!”

“I have enjoyed my time as a Halo member, the staff have always been friendly and helpful and facilities really good, I am sorry to have to give up my membership but unfortunately my health issues have got in the way . Thanks to all 😊”

“Only reason why I stopped was due to work and kids being to little at the moment. I will be coming back soon hopefully. Only downside was having to go to bridgend rec for ice room and sauna.”

“Limited machines, inaccessible to disabled and non-driving people, gym is dated despite the 'renovation', dirty changing rooms.”

Thank you for your feedback. We have just had an investment last year of £200k which helped turn a 1 room gym into a three room gym with 55 stations and brand new equipment and also new LED lighting. We also have a very big car park which is free and has disabled ramps outside and we have lifts inside. Some of our machines are disabled friendly also. Kind regards Maesteg Staffing Team.
