About Halo:

Halo is a registered charity and social enterprise running 25 sport and leisure centres throughout Herefordshire, Bridgend County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil, Shropshire and Swindon on behalf of the local authorities. We often discuss our status as a social enterprise, but many of our customers are unsure of what it actually means and more importantly, how it benefits them. Being a social enterprise means Halo trades for social purposes. We are a registered charity and 'not for profit' organisation, with no shareholders.

The money we make is ploughed back into the facilities.

“Have used the centre for many years, however, recently there has been a significant price increase and the facilities do not match - the gym is very small and the sports hall is too expensive to hire for our local town sports team which is disappointing.”

“Could easily be higher but the changing area is more often dirty and needs hosing down. More annoying when reception is full of staff (4+) The dividers between swim lanes should only be removed when the session is finished or when lanes are not being used.”

“The showers at pontypool active living centre have been cold for weeks. The Internet is never working and the hairdryer opposite the disabled changing room is always blowing a fuse. I am in a wheelchair so the other hairdryers are to high. Please can you take the "Baby changing label" off the disabled changing door as it is a nightmare when people "parents and baby"disrespect the disabled changing room by leaving used nappies, crisp bags, empty shampoo bottle etc. It is then extremely difficult for myself wheelchair bound, members using walking aids to use the disabled changing room safely. Please could you put a lock on the other disabled changing room so your genuine disabled customers like myself can access the two disabled changing rooms safely so we can enjoy your facilities halo offer us? Today someone smeared the "POO" from a dirty nappy on the floor and mirror.”
