About Getting A Medical:

Getting A Medical is a national medical service provider that specialises in driver medicals. Our aim is to offer low cost medicals across all ranges of commercial and non-commercial drivers such as Heavy/Large Goods Vehicles (HGV, LGV), Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCV), Taxi, Ambulance and the Motor Sport Association (MSA). We have a large spread of locations based around England and Wales and all our locations have facilities for a HGV, LGV, PCV, minibus or trailer driver to attend for their Group 2 medical.

“Not happy. Left in pain”

“Would not recommend whatsoever under any circumstances. I went for a medical and the results were absolutely baffling. They obviously mixed up urine samples because the results were ridiculous and obviously had a negative impact on the reason I needed the medical in the first place. A shambles, I should really sue them!”

“I had my medical 21 days ago and the information from the Dr who took my bloods has still not been sent to the dvla yet, the dvla emailed the doctor 3 days ago and still has not had this information resulting in me still waiting for my licence to be issued”

“Waited 50mins after my appointment time to be seen. Just to give 2 signatures and a blood sample all of which took exactly 2 mins. Will not and do not recommend”

“I personally found the experience a complete joke. I’ve had 4 appointments cancelled the day before my appointment in Carlisle. It’s took me 6 months to actually get the medical which I had to go to Wigan for 2 hours away. It cost me )10” travel as well as your medical expenses. It was great for the 5 minutes I was in Wigan . You’ve cost me a lot of money in earnings for the last 6 months messing me around.”

“Having to find availability for 2 back to back appoints because I was having 2 tests made the process inconvenient and annoying. The 2 tests were easily carried out within the 1st 15min slot. This is clearly how you make your money....”

“the setting was not profeesinal or a medial area and i believe the questions asked were not told to me correctly and seemed to assume what i had drank didnt actually take my correct drinking details which has caused a high CDT and have had to get my GP to sort all this mess out which has lead to me not recieving my licencse and to have my new job lost due to this and has caused lots of problems in my life now due to this being so unproffesional”

“told nuse was winding up n she still noted it down screwing my application up that i no id passed, she was told ask stupid questions ill give stupid answers, told her note 2 right or say something because i was joking around but dshe did it anyways,”

“Waited over an hour in the waiting during my lunch break. Blood test results were perfect. The doctor taking the examination marked my questionnaire wrongly and ticked the wrong box for one of the questions. Now my license is revoked and I am now currently in the process of gathering evidence from my own doctor to certify that this is infact an error and to plead my case to return my license. Goes without saying that this is a massive stress for me and my family as everything is now 'up in the air'. Shocking, disgraceful and unfair.”

“A dreadful experience. Paperwork was not received after 4 days. After 2more weeks I was asked to phone DVLA to ask them to fax the letter again!. Getting in phone contact with DVLA was next to impossible as they were unable to take my call!. This also happened last year. System not fit for purpose.”
