About Getting A Medical:

Getting A Medical is a national medical service provider that specialises in driver medicals. Our aim is to offer low cost medicals across all ranges of commercial and non-commercial drivers such as Heavy/Large Goods Vehicles (HGV, LGV), Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCV), Taxi, Ambulance and the Motor Sport Association (MSA). We have a large spread of locations based around England and Wales and all our locations have facilities for a HGV, LGV, PCV, minibus or trailer driver to attend for their Group 2 medical.

“I was in and out in less than 15mins I only got asked for a Blood Sample and that was my medical ! ?????”

“The actual medical was excellent, the doctor was very professional and completed the task quickly. It was the process to actually get the medical that was a challenge and a long delay in replies, but managing to change appointment dates was great with DVLA, and we got there in the end.”

“The doctor and nurse were very nice and did there job professionally. But I’m now 10days later and the dvla is saying they still haven’t received the results which is holding me back from getting my license back.”

“Appointment was for 11:45 and I wasn’t seen until 13:35. Apart from that all staff were pleasant and the Dr. I saw was extremely nice - she apologised for the long wait and explained that the time slots she was given to see people were not long enough to conduct a proper medical. I tended to agree with her and couldn’t fault the medical she provided. She was one of the most amicable and empathetic Doctors I’ve seen.”

“Booking the medical was fine but the medical itself was another thing was told i needed to take a recent opticians prescription wasnt even looked at and its been reported of conditions i dont even have or have had. due to this my own gp is now having to do a report.”

Hi Diane, We advise this as good practice, however, depending on the medical you have this may not be necessary. DVLA tend to follow up with a patients GP if more information is required. Please rest assured that your paperwork was filled out correctly.

Hi Jonathan, For results we advise you contact the DVLA as they deal with the results, we simply carry out the medical on their behalf.

“The process and medical was professionally done and on time so that there wasn't any waiting about. The availability wasn't as good as had to wait a few weeks. Plus my first appointment was changed and put back an extra week.”
