“I love love ,love my swytch kit! I can make it up any hill without stopping. It’s like riding a tandem with a strong willing rider in back. The install was not straightforward. I needed to modify two washers so that the front wheel didn’t hit the fork. Plugging in involves getting down on my knees with the battery in the best position.”

“I cannot recommend this product (Brompton kit). Too much drag on the hub wheel means that the bike turns into dead weight as soon as the battery is empty. I've gone back to the regular wheel and the kit is gathering dust.”

“The sensor coupling around the pedal is not stable. I have to constantly move the magnet / round contraption to get closer otherwise the pedal movement is not captured and the power doesn't kickin.”

“Paid over £600 for the conversion kit and used it occasionally, maybe charging the battery 4 times. Battery is now dead according to Swytch and only has a 3 year lifespan. It worked ok when I used it but the lack of support and short lifespan is scary 😟”

“Everything Poor knowledge from your customer support The kit was for a Brompton but nothing would fit and had to cobble it together myself. The battery then ceased to work and I was told that it regularly needs charging(why not put this on the case if it is critical?!) and was then told it was out of warranty, and I would need the.new style at £250, and it was likely to expect to replace them every 3 years!! The 1 star is for not bursting into flames, but for me, your product is poorly thought out with poor support, and it is unlikely I will purchase fain from you in the future.”

“Would not recommend on the basis that the battery does not go the distance. Extreamly minimal distance and the battery needs charging. Due to the weight of the motor wheel riding takes noticabley more effort totally putting off riding any real distance in fear of having a long and hard ride home.”

“The whole idea seemed great and sold on me so decided to order and support in September 2023. Was promised May delivery which then became June and now July. I was expecting some delay but it’s not acceptable to start selling the kits on eBay and Amazon with im immediate delivery available while getting auto generated replies from customer service about safety changes to the kit etc for my benefit. I would avoid Swytch and paying upfront to fund it to be treated like this. It’s a great concept but unfortunately not delivered spoiling the whole experience. Don’t believe in refund promises as you will need to claim chargeback to get your money back.”

“Despite my providing accurate home address details, no switch was ever delivered to my home. I waited, contacted them, and they finally admitted it was delivered to to another state. After much more wasted time, poorly written emails on their part and frustration on my part, "ksinea" of customer support, told me I had to take it up with UPS. It would giving them the benefit of the doubt that they themselves ever even sent it to my address in NH, whihc is the address I provided them with. Maybe they messed up, and not UPS-= either way no product to NH. Over a month and still nothing to my address in NH...”

“After only 1 month and not even 1000 miles. The spokes on the front have all come loose. Resulting in 2 of the spokes bending on my converted brompton! Having rode my regular brompton for almost 15 years. By contrast the rear wheel is a original part and has hardly ever needed any looking at. Until i recently replaced it. This simply not acceptable for a bike expected to be a commuting work horse that the regular manual brompton was. Utterly disappointed in poor quality workmanship for a company boosting 4.8 stars on trust pilot. I will make a formal complaint, but i use this bike for everyday transport to work, we be inconvenienced by it not working while it gets sorted or if it ever get sorted...”

“Sadly I would NOT recommend buying a Swytch kit from my experience. I have a Brompton folding bike and the kit is not easy to fit, I ended up paying a bike mechanic, who said that it's not the easiest to fit. It has made my bike quite a bit heavier than it was, making carrying it difficult. It doesn't go as far as advertised and the battery lights, that show how much life is left doesn't match up with the handlebar monitor. I definitely won't be buying another”

“Having ridden less than a hundred miles the motor has become defective but I'm out of warranty I'll feel that this must be very poor quality and would cost 375 pounds to replace.”

“The wheel rim got damaged. Swytch do not supply the rim only. They wiil supply a complete new wheel or hub at a much higher cost than a rim. Did not even supply details of the rim so i could buy one. Left with system that doesn't work. I work as a bike mechanic so I will be able to repair it in time. But I will not be recommending swytch to any of my customers who enquire electric converstions. I do recommended the Bafang system.”

“Gen 2 bracket broke, had to repair it and now battery pack has died. No support for older products from Swytch, would not buy any other product from yourself due to the lack of support and poor engineering.”

“When Swytch launched I bought a kit for my bike. It has never worked, even though I have sent videos and have received replacement parts. Total waste of money - really disappointed.”

“The kit didn’t fit my Trek bike frame so tried it on another bike and now there seems to be wires broken in the front connector because we had to take it off and put it on different bikes. Disappointed as I haven’t used it at all!! It also took about 5 months to arrive.”

“Battery has never worked properly and it keeps cutting out. If it does actually work the the noise it makes is a horrible and makes everyone turn and stare at you and range is nowhere near what is advertised, maybe just 1/3rd. Riding your bike without help from the battery feels like having the brake slightly on so not a great experience trying to get home when it stops working . This is the same for both of the systems that I bought. Customer service just stopped responding to my messages so I'm left with 2 very expensive door stops and 2 fancy looking wheels hanging on my shed wall.”
