I find it unbelievable that you cannot claim for anything in the first 14 days yet waggel charge you for these 14 days. My puppy got ill 8 days into the policy and vet details to show this yet it’s classed as pre existing. How on earth is that pre existing?! So a dog gets hit by a car what happens then? That certainly isn’t pre existing is it! Shocking service, don’t use!

Hi Andy, I am sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction. Like most pet insurance companies, we have a 14 day warm up period where claims cannot be made. We outline this information on our website, so that customers are aware of this prior to purchasing their policy with Waggel. The full terms and conditions regarding the 14 day warm up period and pre-existing conditions can be found within your policy document. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Mareia
Why will you not cover a cane Corsos it's not the breed it is the owner that make bad breeds and cane Corsos are not a band breed so if one of my dogs is no good you are no good for my other 2dogs that you will cover 😡🤬
Helpful Report
Hi Barry, I would like to apologise that we are unable to help with your Cane Corso’s insurance at this moment. Your feedback is valuable to us, as we are constantly reviewing our excluded breeds list and would love to have to as part of the Waggel family in the future. Kind regards, Mareia

Hi Janet, We tried to call you but unfortunately were unsuccessful. Can you please give us a call back and we will be more than happy to assist you. Our lines are open Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am to 5pm. Kind regards, Mareia
We've been a Waggel customer for some time, we went with them due to their (now questionable) online reviews and how easy it was to sign up. The whole sales process was a slick as can be - it was really easy to sign up and start paying. The problems started though when our dog was diagnosed with an allergy condition that would require a series of monthly injections. We called Waggel, and they said not a problem - but rather than claim each time, just let them build up and claim 6 months worth. So we let them build up, and now came to make the claim - and this is where it went downhill. We sent all our vet info and medical history. This confirms the dog hadn't been diagnosed with any allergy condition prior to the policy starting out. BUT, the claim was rejected on the grounds that several years ago our dog had an ear infection. Waggel had looked for ANY lame reason not to pay the claim out, so if your dog has had anything (even an ear infection) in the past - then I would not advise insuring with Waggel. They're clearly one of those online companies who make a fortune from people who never claim, but when it comes to actually paying up - they will leave you high and dry. Literally money for nothing.

Hi Tim, I am sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction. As you are aware Waggel do not cover any pre-existing conditions, your pets medical notes show that allergies were present prior to your policy with Waggel. I can see that you have disputed the outcome of the claim and we will have a different customer champion reassess the claim. If you would like to add any additional information or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Mareia

Hi, I am sorry to hear that you didn’t receive your 2 months free insurance. We attempted to call you but unfortunately were unsuccessful in reaching you. Can I please ask you to give us a call and we will look into this matter. Kind regards, Mareia
I was Interested to get a quote for my dog, so went to get a quote, £109 per month is extortionate !!
Helpful Report
Hi there, I am sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your quote. There are a number of factors which impact your policy premiums, which include your pets breed, age, your post code and also the annual limit and excess which is selected. In addition to providing a life time insurance policy, which includes third party cover, dental and complementary treatment, Waggel members also have exclusive benefits which include access to a free behaviourist and nutritionist and also a 24 hour free vet service. If you would like to discuss the quote and benefits with us further, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Mareia
Claim not resolved. Our claim is for ongoing treatment over £1000 to date, yet we have been told the payment will be £51.00!!! I would like someone to contact me ASAP plrasr

Hi Teressa, I can see that your claims have been approved and were processed within 10 working days. As 6 claims were submitted the invoices were claimed separately for each appointment, rather than under one claim. I can see that all invoices have been paid, if you would like to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Mareia
Warning! By far one of the worst pet insurance companies I’ve ever had the misfortune of dealing with, the staff give misinformation and constantly contradict them selves to try and bend the rules so as not to pay out for straight forward and honest claims. After being a supervisor at a very will known world renowned Ape Sanctuary Monkey World in Dorset, with years of animal care, this is by far the worst experience I’ve had with an insurance company who’s marketing campaign says, Pet Insurance Sucks! They claim to have yours and your pets best interest at heart? the very pets we try so hard to protect. Be warned! Waggle like they say have changed it, they’ve made it worse! if you care about the welfare of your pets health and well being and an insurance company that doesn’t suck, think very carefully about choosing Waggle. in my humble professional opinion, there are more honourable insurance companies out there to protect your pets best interests.

Hi Paul, I am sorry to learn of your dissatisfaction. Here at Waggel we pay all eligible claims, however, are unable to cover claims for any pre-existing conditions. Are you able to email me at complainst@waggel.co.uk so that I am able to investigate this matter further. Kind regards, Mareia
Took out "reasonably" priced insurance for my Golden Retriever puppy 12 months ago. Excess very high, but I chose the excess based on the premiums. This year the premium has gone up almost £5,and based on this I can only anticipate how much it will go up over the years, and so will be no different than the leading insurance provider, tho the excess will still be far higher. I have sourced better cover with a true lifetime policy with less excess,at a far lower price. I am very aware this will increase over time but I doubt it will increase more than waggel does. Feel very let down by this company who I had big hopes for. Dont believe the clever marketing-it will suck you in(pardon the pun as "suck" is a word used by Waggel as part of the aforementioned marketing hype. Goodbye Waggel-you will get NO recommendations from me.

Hi Rosanne, Here at Waggel our customers choose their own excess when setting up the policy. This is so that each individual can tailor the policy to suit their own budget and needs. I am sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your renewal price, the reason for the increase included vet inflation and your pets older age. Please also bear in mind that at Waggel we not only provide insurance cover, but all of our customers have access to member benefits which are not always available with other insurance companies. This includes free video calls with vets 24 hours a day, free access to a behaviourist and nutritionist and each month we provide hand picked rewards for you and your pet. We wish you and your furry friend all the best for the future and hope to see you soon back with the Waggel family. Kind regards, Mareia
Was just ready to set up my payments ,but after i read the term and condition did not agree, strânge that a young puppy being insured with you and after a few years we decide that we can have puppys for our childreen the insurance will be invalid, so if my wife have childreen does it mean her life insurance is going to be decline because to me ther are both the same we love your dog as much we love your childreen

Hi Khira, Your insurance would still be valid, however we would not be able to provide cover for any pregnancy related issues. If you would like further information, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Mareia
Been insured with Waggel a few years now never claimed before my dog has Leishmania now. Spent atleast £1400 on treatment waggels dismissed the claim say our underwriters will not pay. Absolutely disgusting my dog was a rescue form Spain never thought she end up with this disease. Would not recommend Waggel to anyone.
Helpful Report
Hi Warren, I am sorry to learn that your claim was declined. As per the terms of the policy, we do not provide cover for Leishmania, and this is outlined within your policy document. If you would like to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Mareia
Poor Customer Service. Any excuse to get out of paying for claims. The very definition of a mixed breed is 2 or more breeds, but Waggel decided it has to be 3 breeds to get out of paying?!
Helpful Report
Hi, I am sorry to learn of your dissatisfaction. We class two breeds as a cross breed and when a dog comes from more than two breeds or you have no knowledge of your dogs breed, this is classed as a mixed breed. When going through the quote flow process, this is explained in the section where you have to select your pets breed. If you would like to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Mareia
100 £ more than current policy with less benefits not good

Hi Dave, Sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your quote, if you would like to get in touch with us we can discuss this further. Kind regards, Mareia
They are like most other insurers, they will look for any technicality so that the don't have to settle in your favour. For example Our vet noticed the dog had a misaligned tooth when being spade. The vet advised the date for the Op to be later because of the anaesthetic. Because this was more than 3 three months after they noticed it. (by a couple of days) Waggle declined the claim. It seems Waggle are not interested in the advice of the vet.

Hi Shaun, I am sorry to learn that you are unhappy with your claim outcome. Can I please ask you to log into your Waggel account and dispute this. Once this has been done, we will have the claim reassessed. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Mareia
Sadly I made the mistake of signing up- a month later I’m still being pestered with emails to sign up and they’re offering me 2 months free if I do. (Noreply email address of course!) Should have done this to start with , going to cancel my pet insurance and go elsewhere. Such a shame because it’s a nice concept.

Hi Dawn, Thank you for signing up to Waggel. Can you please email me at complaints@waggel.co.uk and I will check if any promotions have been applied to your account. Kind regards, Mareia
I was looking to change my pet insurance to Waggel, price seemed competitive and cover fantastic. HOWEVER on querying ‘pre existing condition’ due to my dog being 8th old and therefore at vets on odd occasion for stomach bug or injured paw, I was told they would only assess any pre conditions upon making a claim. I asked if I could send a list from vets if all prior visits however this was not possible. Such a shame as prevents you leaving your current insurer (who I have been with for 8yrs with no problems just increasing premium) and using someone new. Unfortunately I am too suspicious of insurance companies to just ‘wait until I need to claim, as I am sure most illnesses could be linked to a previous sickness or injury

Hi Karen, I am sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the service provided. Are you able to email me any conditions or symptoms which your pet has visited the vet for in last 8 years. I will have our head of claims assess any relevant exclusions which may apply. My email address is complaints@waggel.co.uk. Kind regards, Mareia
This is appalling. I told you NOT to pay this as this claim is not complete. And whilst my dog is dying you are already suggesting the removal of her tumour is not covered you should be ashamed of yourselves and this utter shambles.
Helpful Report
Hi Mark, As per our conversation, we have obtained the invoice directly from your vet. If there are any additional treatments which you need to claim for, you can submit these as continuation claims and do not need to pay any further excess. If you have any questions you can contact me directly at complaints@waggel.co.uk. Kind regards, Mareia
I have been paying for Waggle insurance for over a year now, as initialy when we got our dog they seemed like a good company, with modern values and a good offer. As time went by I realised that the insurance is pretty much useless. Excess contributions minimum mean that most problems requiring a vet visit will end up costing £100-200, which is under the excess, and so cannot be claimed. So far there was never something that we could claim for, which doesn't mean we haven't found ourselves with vet bills that created financial burdains when payed. Recently our dog has developed a few behavioural issues that started becoming of increased concern, and after consulting with a trainer and qualified behaviourist we have started expensive training to ensure our dog is healthy and happy and won't get hit by a car or get in trouble. Unfortunately, althoug Waggel say they cover behavioural treatment, they are refusing to help us with covering part of this training, because we have not consulted a vet to refer us to this. Honestly, non of the dog owners I have met so far have consulted with a vet before consulting with a trainer/behaviourist first, when encountering such issues, and so for the one time I actually thought this insurance could help us in reducing a substantial financial burdain, it has proved useless once again. I would highly recommend avoiding this useless insurance, which is simply money down the drain with no actual coverage that is useful except in extreme cases.

Hi Guy, I am sorry to learn that you are unhappy with the service provided by Waggel. Here at Waggel we allow our customers to choose their own excess when setting up the policy. This is so that the policy is tailored to their own budget and needs. Our customers have the option to contribute nothing towards a claim or anything up to £250. Please note that excess is not due for each claim submitted and instead is for each condition claimed for, per policy year. For example, if you were to claim 10 times in one policy year for the same condition, you would only pay the excess once. I can see that you have not actually submitted a claim yet for the behaviour training. can I please ask you to log onto our website and submit a claim, once this has been done we will have a customer champion assess your claim. If you have any questions regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Mareia
How can a cowboy company like this still operating in UK ,what a scam company ,DO NOT INSURE with them they take all your money and when you try to claim in the future they just simple avoid ,this happen with my daughter's wonderful dog who passed way in a car accident ,the right word to describe this company is MONEY SHARKS ,the government should ban cowboy companies like this ,go to a trust company like direct line ,like me so far so good ,good lucky everybody

Appalling really. But I am pleased that Bonnie's account will now be paid for, thank you. I have a query, you mention urinary tract issues will be excluded, why is this? I know her kidney crystals are excluded, I noted this at the start of my policy, but what has this to do with her urinary tract? Denise and Bonnie Young
Helpful Report
Hi Denise, I am happy to hear that your claim has been accepted, and the money will reach your account within 3 working days. The exclusion has been placed as Bonnie is noted to have experienced crystals in her urine prior to your policy with Waggel. This being said, we still encourage you to submit all claims and each will be assessed on a case by case basis. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Mareia
