Our offers are based on what we can expect to make from the items in our outlets, and we do offer slightly less in order to maintain a viable business. Having looked at your account, I can see that the majority of items were made from silver plate, which unfortunately didn't have much of a rarity to them, which would limit the offer amount. I am sorry to hear that you accepted the offer that you were unhappy with, as we do always offer a free returns service for the box of items if a customer is unhappy. “Very poor offer, there were cameras, one a box camera another an olympus plus some kodak ones.A pair of binoculars, vintage brass light fitting, various brass ornaments including a brass bell which was unusual.A brass car horn a pair of ancient piano candlesticks , lots of silver plated and the odd silver cutlery and sugar tongs, a mappin and webb dessert spoon 1950's an antique clock that did not work.among other things and the offer was £27.What an insult.I would think twice before sending off any antiques or vintage items, get them valued and sell them yourself I know they have to make a profit but that offer was a disgrace!!!”

“DON'T BELIEVE THE SLICK ADVERTISING HYPE - STEER CLEAR OF VINTAGE CASH COW I sent them a large variety of vintage items in good condition. My husband estimated an offer of around £200 - I was expecting about £400. When I was offered £20 I thought I'd misheard!!! Then they repeated the miserly amount and I realised what an absolute con this company are. The truth is, hundreds of hopeful, trusting individuals (willing to part with their belongings to make some money in these hard times) are being disgustingly ripped-off by this swindling organisation. The only 'good' reviews on here are probably made-up! Only sell your valuables to VCC if you are prepared to be paid an insulting pittance. I would love to be a fly on their warehouse wall as all the good stuff comes pouring in and they rub their hands with glee, knowing they'll make a huge profit for a tiny payout. Of course their customer service rep will now leave a message underneath my review: 'Dear Susan, sorry to hear you were unhappy with your offer - blah blah blah - but what you were offered was because your items are difficult to resell - blah blah blah.' Don't waste your time and your valuables with VCC”

I am sorry to hear you found our service to be a ‘Con’ I can confirm that we are not a con service, but if a customer is unhappy with any offer given they can ask for their items returned free of charge, no questions asked. I can assure you, none of our reviews have been ‘Made up’, and they are all true customers to have used our service. “Do not trust them. I sent one assorted box and received what I thought was a reasonable offer, but that proved to be the bait. I then sent a second box of silver items (which had been checked and insured by a leading jeweller). I was offered £27.50 and informed they were plate, not silver. When I mentioned they were hallmarked I was told that hallmarks weren't a guarantee and they had checked the silver content and it was only 2%. I asked for the items to be returned. They were, badly packed and damaged. About two weeks late I took the same 4 items to a visiting buyer in the village hall and was instantly given £450.”

Silver plated items may also have hallmarks on them, to show the maker's mark, the location of plating, and sometimes trade mark symbol. Our appraisers use X-ray fluorescence guns to determine the composition of metals. For a service like ours, we do have to have a reputable way of ensuring that we can give accurate offers for items we receive and this is why we invest in equipment like the XRF gun. “I wouldn’t give any stars agree with peoples Reviews below absolute con, false advertising !! They advertise fashion jewellery you send a load on then say we don’t look at these. Then send them back in a tiny plastic clear bag completely all tangled up taking me hours to untangle them. They were not sent to them like that! I won’t recommend or use this company again. !”

“If I could I would leave zero stars. After a chat with them and being told that what I have is exactly what they are looking for, all vintage & antique brass, silver, objets d'art etc I sent two 25 kilo boxes, every item carefully bubble wrapped. They offered £20 for the lot! I've been offered that for one item elsewhere, let alone 50. I declined & they said they'd send it back. It arrived all jumbled, unwrapped in the boxes. Around a third of the items are now so damaged they are totally worthless. 100 year old lacquer box, carefully looked after, now so scratched & broken it's had to be binned. I would 1000% NOT recommend this company to anyone. It's a very classic bait & switch scam.”

Whilst we absolutely do buy metal items, they can have limited resale value, if they are pieces with high saturation within the second hand market. “Absolute con. Which is hardly surprising. If they weren’t ripping people off they wouldn’t be able to afford free two way postage or give £20 for every referral. And advertising on ITV (Megabucks). Don’t do it! Sell elsewhere or give to charity. I wasn’t happy with my offer £27 for large box containing solid silver cutlery, candlesticks, costume jewellery and many other items. I would have requested a return but from reviews saw that items often went missing or were damaged. Never again. Wouldn’t recommend”

“I decided to use vintage cash cow as I had an old box of costume jewellery, broken watches etc that had been given to me. I was emailed throughout the process and a very nice man phoned me with an offer of £350. I was really surprised with the offer as I didn't think it was worth that much. “DO NOT USE CASH COW The initial offer on the first package was reasonable, the next box I sent, I was only offered a derisory amount. I was told my pearls were of little value as they are cultured. The majority of pearls are cultured and I do know the value of them. A friend sent a jade bracelet and was told that jade is not a gemstone and is only costume jewelry and not of any value. The current market value of jade is sky high! The boxes of pearls and chains and other necklaces were dumped together in bags so they were very tangled when unwrapped. The pearls were not put back in the pouches and fitted box that I sent them in. So much for the leaflet that was in the return package saying "We've carefully repackaged your items for a safe journey". That is a complete and utter joke! I know that the scrap value of the gold and silver I sent is far more than the pathetic amount that I was offered. Vintage cash cow is a con, do not be fooled by the TV advert!”
