True Traveller - Travel Insurance designed by Travellers

When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“True Traveller is getting 5 stars as I am genuinely a very happy and satisfied customer. I first used this company when I went to Nepal last year. I rang several times their office and was always met with courteous, friendly and efficient True Traveller customer advisors. They had a wealth of knowledge to share with me about travelling, as all of them were travellers too ! My policy was tailor made and the price I paid was very reasonable. I was able to go trekking and explore different regions of the country. When I had to extend my stay it was very easy to extend my policy too, all on line. This year I used True Traveller again for my travel insurance, I don't think I'd go with anyone else now, they are my favourite travel partner ! (Don't tell my boyfriend !)”

“Website was very clear and easy to read. Each of the add ons was well explained, with the list of exclusions very prominent so it was clear which would be appropriate to buy. Haven't been on my trip yet, but so far the experience has been great. I needed one way travel insurance, and this was the best option I found. The "travellers pack" covered all of the activities that I want to do, which is really helpful.”

“I used True Traveller as I have been travelling for 5 years and have found it hard to find an insurer that would insure someone from the UK when my journey did not start there (as I currently live in NZ). Quote was a fair price and was easy to understand. Would recommend.”

“It is very easy to see what is included in each type of policy. It is also very easy to see what medical conditions are covered. I looked several different companies but I felt that True Traveller gave far more details about policies than any of the others.”

“True Traveller’s open and easy to navigate pricing options is what sold it for me. It was clear what I was getting and for how much. When I had questions that needed clarifying, the phone call with the assistant was clear and to the point, without trying to sell me anything. “The True traveller website was extremely straightforward to use. The pre-loaded options were very handy to select the region I would be travelling and the activities I would be doing. I searched a number of different providers for travel insurance and True traveller was by far the most comprehensive and at a very good price. The whole process took me less than 5 minutes and I will definitely be using them again. Highly recommended”

“Absolutely love the fact you can choose what you'd like included in the policy. Very customisable, very easy to see what is and isn't covered. One of the best places if you're looking at doing the Canadian IEC visa. Offering full cover for the two years (that UK citizens are entitled to). Extremely happy and confident that I'm covered for exactly what I need.”
