When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“I called Truetraveller to get a quote for the IEC Canada 2 year insurance. I also asked what is included in the winter sports package. I got all the answers I needed and bought my insurance online. I recommend them and it is easy to contact them for answers.”

“Good, clear advice and knowledgable over the phone with a couple of questions I had. I’d read up and asked friends who’d used True Traveller and all sounded great. I had a question about length of insurance compared to visa and they answered the call quickly (I didn’t have to suffer the hold music) and answered my question simply. I then got my insurance sorted and paid for on their website in minutes - easy. Would definitely recommend.”

“I bought True Traveller policy for my 4 month trip to South East Asia & New Zealand, and even though I haven’t had to make any claim yet, so far True Traveller has been great. The website is straightforward and easy to use, and everything is explained in plain English so you are clear on what you are signing up for. For me the best part is how much flexibility with coverage you get from True Traveller and that you can completely waive the excess which I found was not always an option with competitor policies. Thanks and keep it up!”

“I read through several travel insurance policies before choosing True Traveller. Their website was easy to navigate. The options boxes included explanations about each add-on so that you knew what cover you needed and didn’t need. Unlike other insurers that I considered, True Traveller’s terms and conditions and exclusions were clearly presented. True Traveller offered a comprehensive travel insurance package at a competitive rate giving me the peace of mind I needed before departing on an amazing one month break.”

“I really liked my experience with TrueTraveller. They came highly recommend from a friend and they didn’t disappoint. I am already overseas and travelling onto Canada (where insurance is mandatory to gain a IEC visa) and I shopped around a lot. TrueTraveller gave me the cover that I needed for my visa with lots of additional cover options. I was also able to purchase two years worth of insurance which not many companies can offer and they were super responsive and helpful for any questions I had. The form and application were so easy and I could add the sports that I enjoy to know I’ll be fully looked after during my next adventure!”

“I haven't had to claim on the insurance yet, but the process of purchasing it was very easy and much more self explanatory than most insurance companies I've brought from before. I'm using it for my 2 year working holiday visa in Canada, and it seemed to be the best option!”

“We have travelled three years already on the row and taken travel insurance from True Traveller three or four times for longer periods. We appreciate the easiness of buying and selecting suitable insurance for our own needs. Price is affordable and lot cheaper than travel insurances in our native country Finland (after three months abroad). We have been lucky enough for not needing take advantage of our insurance, so I can't tell how it works when something happens and we are knocking the wood that we can keep it that way. According the experiment on getting the insurance I'm confident though.”

“Over the next 6-months I am backpacking through Central America on my way from the UK to Australia. True traveller was the best price I could find online for one-way travel insurance. As a freelancer, I have to travel with my gadgets - laptop, drone, camera, phone etc. It was great having the option to specifically cover these items instead of having them fall generally under valuables. The website was really easy to use and I got an email confirmation straight away. I recommend using the live chat function on their website. There were a few things I wanted to clarify before I purchased and getting an instantaneous response from a real person was great peace of mind (the transcribed chat was then emailed to me as a record of correspondence). “Just taken out my 5th or 6th policy with True Traveller. Always use them for my high altitude expeditions as there are varying heights they'll cover for. And they'll cover my pre-existing medical conditions. So far (touch wood) I've never had to make a claim”

“I like how Diabetes is automatically covered in True Traveller's plans. As a type 1 diabetic it's hard to find decent coverage. Of course I wish insulin was included but it's so hard to get cover for pre-existing conditions like mine. I also found the call centre very helpful when I asked about questions on coverage for medical needs. Would definitely recommend to others.”
