When travelling overseas, the one thing you should never skimp on is your travel insurance cover, as should things go wrong you want the very best cover for you and your possessions.

At The True Traveller, we’re used to advising people on travelling all around the world, and due to feedback from our customers we’ve changed our insurance website, made it even better value and extended the range of products.

On Single Trips, we offer three Policies called True Value, Traveller and Traveller Plus. True Value is designed for travellers under 40 years of age, and is designed for last minute travellers and backpackers. The Traveller policy, our most popular, is designed for holiday makers and adventurous travellers alike, and Traveller Plus gives enhanced medical and cancellation cover.

On our Multi Trip Policies, again we offer the Traveller policy valid for unlimited trips throughout the year for durations up to 30 days, and the Traveller Plus policy which offers enhanced cover for unlimited trips lasting up to 70 days. We also have a budget True Value Policy for travellers under 40 years of age.

We’ve tried to get the prices as keen as possible on all our insurances. This means on the Single Trip and Multi-Trip you have the option to exclude Baggage Cover as this may well be covered in your Home Contents insurance; you also have the option to add-in different activity packs. The Traveller Pack covers 92 of the regular holiday activities which you will get involved in, and covers clerical/non-manual work as standard. The Adventure Pack covers a further 41 activities and is designed for the more adventurous traveller and backpacker, covering trekking to 4,600m, as well as volunteer work and manual work. The Extreme and Ultimate Packs covers all the more extreme and ultimate adventures. The Extreme covers trekking over 4,600m to any altitude, as well as Scuba Diving to 50M. The Ultimate covers Hang Gliding, Mountaineering and Polo to name just three of the Ultimate adventures!

“I use their services the first time. Stuck on my way during the corona virus chaos. I needed to prolong my current insurance, already during my trip. True Traveller was almost only one option, recommend also by my friend (also traveller). The purchase process was easy and I got all info I needed. Also their responses of their support are fast. I put 4 from 5 not cause I'm unsatisfied but cause I haven't known how it works in reality.”

“would recommend. just booked with True Traveller for my up coming move to Canada. they have a pretty comprehensive policy, liked the wide range of add on's offered from adventure sports to extreme sports, very handy. Couldnt find any other insurance policy that matches or comes close. thanks John”

“All easy and we like that there’s an option to cover walking up to 4600m. Many other companies stop at 4000m. The website is difficult to use on your phone. It requires you to turn the screen sideways, which makes everything fiddly.”

“I bought this policy for my Nepal trekking trip because after searching this one seemed best for the price. They were very clear on whats included and excluded with my policy and also how to contact them in case I needed it. They also emailed me before my trip about risk of AMS and the precautions to take which I thought was useful. Thankfully my trip went well ,so I cant review about the service I would have got if I actually had to contact them.”

“Review is based on a number of different factors: Price: True Traveller was probably the cheapest out of the best insurances I could find. Comparing this to similair policies from other providers for the same policy period, True Traveller is significantly cheaper than other providers. Money saved = more money to spend on your trip. Cover: Keeping in mind the relatively cheap price point, the basic insurance offers more than sufficient cover on the most important elements I look for in an insurance policy, mainly Medical cover and Personal Liability. This being said, those looking for a more comprehensive policy would be better off with the more expensive packages (still cheaper than most of their competitors). My only disappointment in this area was the insufficient cover available for valuable belongings such as laptops and cameras. I ended up not choosing this option in the end as it was not worth while. User-friendliness: This is one of the things which made me choose True Traveller as my insurance provider. The website is carefully laid out and each policy line is explained carefully on the website, helping you understand better what you’re covered for under each policy. Understanding what you’re covered for can be a daunting task when you’ve never purchased travel insurance before; so this makes choosing True Traveller that much easier. One final note to consider is the fact that its available for most countries in the world. I cam across way too many insurance providers who only sell their products to customers in the UK, so this is also great for anyone outside the UK having trouble in finding an insurance for their travels.”

“This is my second time taking an insurance at True Traveller. Last year on my first year in Australia I didn't have any problem with them and I want to trust them for my second year as well. It is an insurance thought by and for travellers and it covers the necessary stuff that you need for your journey at a very affordable price!”

“Straightforward to set up and the option to add winter sports is great for backpacking adventures! Haven’t had to make a claim yet so I can’t judge that aspect but I’ve never had a bad experience with Allianz underwriting.”

“Had a nightmare trying to find insurance for my season away so finding true traveller saved me! Was hoping to find something a tiny bit cheaper but compared to the other insurance policy’s out there this was cheap! “Don’t agree with being asked for a review ahead of using the product. At this stage -having just bought it, I can only rate the purchase process. The website is excellent although in the unlikely event that you access the internet through a corporate connection based in another country, you can’t effect payment without phoning in or chatting online. It’s clever security to avoid invalidating a policy but I wished there were a simpler way to overcome. If Ihave to use the policy during the trip, I will be able to offer an honest opinion of the product, not just the sales process.”
