Jordan branch - awful experience. We asked Nermin multiple times to send us a detailed itinerary, as we were worried to be tight with the timings, but she never did so, until we asked to talk to her manager. Even then, she sent us a simple WhatsApp message (no email, no apologises), on capital letters, as if she was angry, with some drafted timings and what was supposed to be the itinerary - most of the message contained wrong info. For example, she included little Petra in the itinerary of Monday, but we had already been there the day before. She told us that the Bethany visit lasts 20 min, when it actually takes 90 to 120 min. I would have lost my flight, if it wasn’t for Khaled, our driver, who advised us for a completely different itinerary. My friend had to argue with Nermin twice about what was included in her tour, as she kept on sending confused WhatsApp messages saying one thing and then the opposite. We are extremely dissatisfied and will ask for a refund. I’m happy to talk to the headquarters and give more details, if needed.

I can not recommend your services in your Guatamala Branch. At all times (11 days) Tristan, the owner/manager of TERRA GUATEMALA, treated us rudely and accused us of having false expectations of our trip. He is unprofessional, deceiving, and irresponsible. We NEVER had the Tour Guide that we paid for, at our arrival the taxi was late, and we were abandoned by the taxi drivers in Ixpanpajul and Chichicastengo. His written communications presented grammar and typing errors. Daily we need the help of the front desk staff to help us understand what was supposed to be done. Tristan has no problem-solving skills or idea of what customer service is. His personal manners go parallel with this rudeness. The only thing that Tristan does is book hotels at double the regular rates. Tour Operator he is not. Terra Guatemala is not a Tourist Agency.

I booked a trip and was not told any penalties for cancellation. I canceled 7 days later and was not only charged a penalty but treated so rudely and accused of being a liar by the tour operator. Communications were unprofessional and difficult to read with all the typing and spelling errors. Maybe we just got a bad tour operator, but he was given to us by Travellocal, so I do not know what their vetting process is. We will look elsewhere for all our travel needs. Attached is just a small example of what I dealt with!

We’re sorry that you had to cancel your group trip at short notice. Each of our local experts have Terms & Conditions stating that down payments are non-refundable, and gradually increase the closer it gets to the departure date. These have to be agreed to by travellers before any payment is made. Part of the reason they are non-refundable is because all accommodation, guides and experiences are arranged in advance. All of our partners are well-established local experts that have received TravelLocal training, but we are always looking for ways to improve and will feed your comments back to our team.

If I could give zero stars I would. First they messed up my arrival date, had me arriving a day earlier. Got to the hotel, found out that they didn’t change the reservation so they paid for a night I wasn’t even in the country and then the 3rd night of my stay wasn’t booked! When we checked in, our representative Omar, had us sit in the lobby while he sorted out the hotel reservations. Almost an hour later told us all was good he had sorted it out and we would be staying at the hotel for the 3 nights. Day 2. It was wonderful. Had an amazing guide Mahmoud. He picked us up, took us the pyramids and other places and we had a fantastic day. Beautiful clean van to drive us around all day Day 3- we had a scheduled pick up for 6:45am. Going to the desert and Oasis. 6:05 get a message car will be there at 6:15. Told them impossible we weren’t ready and pick up was confirmed the night before for 6:45. Finally a car shows up at 7:15. An old run down car. Omar got questioned by police at the hotel because private cars aren’t allowed in certain areas where tourists are, including hotels. Finally we get going only to now stop again on the side of a busy street and we are told to get out and get into another vehicle. This one was very scary. We opened the door, all the seats, steering wheels, gear shift were all covered in plastic. The vehicles and drivers were not like the day before. They had credentials around their neck and the vehicle was labeled with company logo. We refused to go, it was way too sketchy. Got taken back to the hotel, then it got even worse. Hotel tells us that Omar lied to us, the 3rd night did not get booked ( he told the hotel he would do it but never did). Now we had to pay $700USD to stay. Multiple calls and texts and nothing. Finally they offered me $300USD towards the cancelled day trip and $300USD towards the hotel. (Hotel was $700 a night). One whole day fighting with Sun Pyramid tours and the hotel wanting their money. Day 4. Time to get picked up to go to hotel. Instead of the beautiful big van that picked us up on arrival, we were picked up in the old crappy car from the day before. I paid $3450USD plus another $700USD for the unpaid hotel night) to have 2 full days of private guided tours and 3 nights in the a hotel with pick up to and from the airport. They completely ruined a trip I paid a lot of money for and had dreamed of for so long. Do not use this company!!

I have a trip in less than three weeks to Egypt. I have paid money but can’t get anyone to provide an updated itinerary. I have no idea where we are staying, when our domestic flights are, times we are being picked up. I had a high-level itinerary and was told they couldn’t book the flights until I put money down. I did - now nothing. My travel agent isn’t responding after over a half dozen requests. I reached out to TravelLocal who said that they reached out to the agent- still nothing. They have our money and we don’t know what, if anything, that we have.

Please beware, that the UK office plays no involvement in assiting with the planning or arrangements, and you are left dealing with in my case an agent in Sri Lanka. Who when it became apparent that i was not happy with his recommendations that i paid for entrance fees and arranged tours myself otherwise he would charge commision and having asked that he cancel my enquiry sent a lenghty rant culminating in the following ''So Stephen, with all the respect to you sir, in my opinion, it is not that we did not understand your requirement, but we were given different requirements at different times by you. But I must say that we love that. Because, we are here to plan your trip with expert local knowledge and suggestions. So we did all these in good heart and with a passion.'' The UK office was contacted for comment with no reply. Your choice.
