“My sister and I booked and customised a 16 day tour to Uzbekistan with TravelLocal. I usually enjoy the planning and logistics of a holiday so I was a little unsure about booking through a company. However, I needn’t have been and will definitely be using TravelLocal again! I enquired about the tour via the website on a Sunday and was surprised and amazed to receive a weekend phone call from Feruza just ten minutes later! I shared some of the places that we hoped to visit and the kind of experience we were after; very quickly, I had a well-crafted and personalised itinerary, which Feruza further adapted (we had decided to add a few extra days on). The booking process was impressive from the offset and Feruza was always on hand to answer any questions I had - both before and during the tour. Throughout the tour we were lucky enough to have excellent drivers and passionate local tour guides, who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and give us a once in a lifetime experience - Marifot (Tashkent), Kamol (Aral Sea and Khiva), Niso (Bukhara) and Nasiba (Samarkand). Some of the guides even contacted us at night - in their own time and without being asked - to send us restaurant and nighttime recommendations! Each of them had a wealth of knowledge and adapted the tour to suit our needs on the day. The hotels booked for us were comfortable and all staff were friendly. In fact, we found that the whole of Uzbekistan was friendly. From the local houses we entered on our way to the Aral Sea as well as at Mitan village, to the elderly ladies who invited us to dance with them in Samarkand, to strangers on the street - Uzbekistan did not disappoint! It’s hospitality, architecture and history is second to none. We were able to do so much more with TravelLocal than we would have otherwise been able to and since arriving home, I have been telling everybody to visit Uzbekistan! The cost of the tour was great value for money. The internal flight and train transfer were well organised (and both comfortable). Thank you Feruza and TravelLocal. I will definitely be visiting Central Asia again one day and will be using TravelLocal (hopefully very soon) for lots of future travels!”

“We used TravelLocal to organize our recent 3 week holiday in Vietnam (long delayed from 2020 due to Covid). They were flexible with our travel plans over the 3 year period and super responsive. They had connected us with their partner in Vietnam, Tonkin Travel, to suggest and organize the holiday details - they were brilliant and I can’t recommend them highly enough. Again, really responsive to emails - generally turning around queries and changes in 24 hours. They worked within our budget. Took time to listen to what kind of experience we were looking for, then suggested lovely hotels and fun things suitable for us to do (the Vespa tours in Hue and Saigon were the highlight of our trip , especially for our 15 year old!). The drivers and cars provided were roomy, reliable and had great air conditioning (it was hot!) - drivers were courteous and smooth, despite winding roads in the mountains and crazy traffic. The guides were wonderful - personable and chatty, willing to share their experience and love for their country, spoke good English. Felt like they were part of our family by the time we departed - thank you, Huy Nguyen and Anh Nguyen, for making our holiday so special. A big shout out to Nga Duong at Tonkin Travel for all her help. She set up WhatsApp with us beforehand so we could communicate with her throughout our trip - and most importantly find our guide at Hanoi airport when we just landed. It really helped to ensure we could communicate quickly for last minute queries. All in all, a fabulous holiday and I’d book with both travel local and Tonkin Travel again.”

“An Unforgettable Journey to Everest Base Camp with Travellocal: A Remarkable Adventure in Nepal My son and I embarked on an extraordinary adventure to the Everest Base Camp, thanks to the travel agency recommended by Travellocal in Nepal. From the very beginning, our experience was nothing short of amazing. Upon contacting them, we were promptly connected with Bishnu, who is based in Kathmandu. Bishnu efficiently provided us with a well-crafted itinerary and budget, making the booking process a breeze. The payment was straightforward through Travellocal, and from there on, Bishnu took charge of all the arrangements. As soon as we landed at Kathmandu airport, we were warmly greeted and introduced to Bishnu and our guide for the next two weeks, Dhruba. Throughout the journey, Dhruba proved to be exceptional in his profession. With an innate connection to the mountains and a wealth of expertise, he guided us with unwavering professionalism and care. When our flight to Lukla was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, Dhruba's resourcefulness shone through. He promptly presented us with alternative options and ensured we were back on track in no time. The trek itself was remarkably smooth, thanks to the guidance of Dhruba and the assistance of a faultless porter we met in Lukla. Though the journey was not without challenges, such as experiencing altitude sickness after reaching 5000 meters, Dhruba's experience and preparedness came to the rescue. With his adept knowledge, he handled the situation expertly, and after a day's rest, we were back on our way to reach the base camp. The trip to Everest Base Camp will forever remain etched in our memories as an unforgettable experience. Not only was it filled with breathtaking landscapes and awe-inspiring sights, but it was also orchestrated with utmost safety and care. The agency ensured that all the necessary safeguards were in place, providing us with peace of mind in such a challenging terrain. Upon the successful completion of our trek, we had the pleasure of meeting Bishnu again before our departure. “Travel Local put us in touch with Southern Africa 360 to plan our trip to Botswana. It was truly amazing experience and Nikki was instrumental in putting it together. When we told other guides and agents in Botswana and other countries about our trip, we were constantly told we got to see the "gems" of the country. It was so amazing, our friends and families have asked for our itinerary for future planning! Nikki also assisted with coordinating flights, even though we had booked them independently, as navigating some of those Southern African airlines can be tricky. The entire process was so easy and she made sure to accommodate us when our plans changed--for example, we had independently booked a black rhino safari on our last day at Victoria Falls, which meant we would have to miss our originally scheduled morning transfer from Zimbabwe to Zambia--Nikki made sure our transfer was changed to the evening and we were able to enjoy our safari and safely make the land transfer into Zambia. The guides she picked were incredibly helpful at assisting us with all of the border crossings we made, from Botswana into Zimbabwe, and then on to Zambia. Many things could go wrong during this trip but they were all handled with efficiency. This is my fourth time using Travel Local and they are by far my favorite travel agency, since they put me in touch with local agencies who are really specialists in the area they are from. I also like contributing to the local economies. I can't say enough good things about Travel Local and their associates. I've never had a bad experience and look forward to planning my next trip to Thailand with them!”

“I contacted travel local, and they asked me how many locations that we wanted to stay and asked what price point I was looking for. It was such an easy trip to book. We went to Costa Rica. Every detail was taken care of. They emailed back and forth and to make sure to get my exact flight and my private transfer driver was waiting when I arrived at the airport. We got shared or private transportation for 8 days and our driver was only late one time by 15 minutes. Otherwise, he was there early every transfer. The hotels were really nice and the tours were phenomenal. I will be contacting travel local again to help me with my vacations. It was only about $400 more than if I had booked everything myself and had the stress of trying to rent a car and drive. It was very stress-free by using travel local.”

“Jordan branch - awful experience. We asked Nermin multiple times to send us a detailed itinerary, as we were worried to be tight with the timings, but she never did so, until we asked to talk to her manager. Even then, she sent us a simple WhatsApp message (no email, no apologises), on capital letters, as if she was angry, with some drafted timings and what was supposed to be the itinerary - most of the message contained wrong info. For example, she included little Petra in the itinerary of Monday, but we had already been there the day before. She told us that the Bethany visit lasts 20 min, when it actually takes 90 to 120 min. I would have lost my flight, if it wasn’t for Khaled, our driver, who advised us for a completely different itinerary. My friend had to argue with Nermin twice about what was included in her tour, as she kept on sending confused WhatsApp messages saying one thing and then the opposite. We are extremely dissatisfied and will ask for a refund. I’m happy to talk to the headquarters and give more details, if needed.”

“I had a dream trip of a lifetime in Greece with coordinated by Vangelis From start to finish this was a a dream come true. All of the accommodations were were 5-start. The tours were spectacular. Every single details was thought out and perfectly executed from transportation to ferry rides. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect vacation. I'm still floating on a high. “I can not recommend your services in your Guatamala Branch. At all times (11 days) Tristan, the owner/manager of TERRA GUATEMALA, treated us rudely and accused us of having false expectations of our trip. He is unprofessional, deceiving, and irresponsible. We NEVER had the Tour Guide that we paid for, at our arrival the taxi was late, and we were abandoned by the taxi drivers in Ixpanpajul and Chichicastengo. His written communications presented grammar and typing errors. Daily we need the help of the front desk staff to help us understand what was supposed to be done. Tristan has no problem-solving skills or idea of what customer service is. His personal manners go parallel with this rudeness. The only thing that Tristan does is book hotels at double the regular rates. Tour Operator he is not. Terra Guatemala is not a Tourist Agency.”

“People write to you when they have a problem. This is not my case. I write because we fell in love with Jordan, thanks to our guide from Amman Emad Fraihat. He showed us the best Jordan has to offer. We learned a lot about rich Jordanian history and culture, the intricacies and interactions of 3 major religions and we went home enlightened with new knowledge because we had an excellent guide. From the moment of planning our dream trip, to when we arrived in Marrakesh and then trhoughout our travels and at different destinations, we felt well looked after. We even got a call from the ground agent whilst we were staying in the mountains to say that they had called the next days driver to pick us up a little later so we could make the most of the morning in the mountains. Nice touches. The excursions and activities were spot on and our family favourite was definitely the cooking course in Marrakech, but then of course the Camel ride in the desert was pretty hard to beat too! “I booked a trip and was not told any penalties for cancellation. I canceled 7 days later and was not only charged a penalty but treated so rudely and accused of being a liar by the tour operator. Communications were unprofessional and difficult to read with all the typing and spelling errors. Maybe we just got a bad tour operator, but he was given to us by Travellocal, so I do not know what their vetting process is. We will look elsewhere for all our travel needs. Attached is just a small example of what I dealt with!”

We’re sorry that you had to cancel your group trip at short notice. Each of our local experts have Terms & Conditions stating that down payments are non-refundable, and gradually increase the closer it gets to the departure date. These have to be agreed to by travellers before any payment is made. Part of the reason they are non-refundable is because all accommodation, guides and experiences are arranged in advance. All of our partners are well-established local experts that have received TravelLocal training, but we are always looking for ways to improve and will feed your comments back to our team.

“Using this platform made our traveling around Argentina super easy. Transportation and all accommodations were set up ahead of time and didn’t have to worry about any planning. It was a great experience and wonderful way to travel to multiple cities and countries worry-free.  Lujan helped create a wonderful itinerary based off what we were interested in doing and timeline. We also worked with Antonella after the itinerary was created who communicated frequently and was able to answer any question along the way. Both woman provided fantastic services and were quick to respond. They had exceptional customer service.”
