“Lovely shelf for basin for bathroom which is really well made and good quality and looks great. Only issue is the brackets are quite ugly so options maybe good as cheapens the loom”

“The quality of the beam is great, a lovely bit of wood, the perfect size, with good fittings that were easy to install. The reason I have only given 3 stars is the Danish oil finish appeared to only be one coat and didn't seem to have been applied to the ends of the beam, we recoated with Danish oil ourselves. Also there were no installation instructions included with the beam which would be helpful to have. You can find them on the website but it would be helpful if a print out was included with the beam. It would also be helpful to have a suggestion included to check the minimum distance from the stove with the stove manufacturer, as we installed the beam the first time, found it got really hot, checked online and realised we were slightly closer than the minimum distance from combustibles required so we had to take the beam down, order new fixings (as the originals were damaged removing them from the wall) and then reinstall a few cm higher. All in all we are very happy with the finished beam, but it did require a bit of extra faffing/effort from us which could have been avoided if instructions were supplied and if the beam had been thoroughly oiled.”

“Ordered oak bathroom sink counters. Lots of communication felt really easy. Nice when arrived. Builder mounted them and a few WEEKS later a large crack appears, about 50cm long and quite a few mm thick in places. Contact again and told oh cracking that much is normal (first I was told in all correspondence and it voids the woods ability to be waterproof so I don't believe them). Asked for care advice and all replies suddenly stopped no matter how much i chased. Frankly shameful and I think clearly shows what they think of customers having issues after payment. A waste of money in the end as these will need replacing after not long with the size of the crack. Don't know what their fireplace beams are like but from my experience DO NOT PURCHASE their products for bathrooms and be wary of their promises”

Hello, I'm sorry you didn't receive a second response straight away. Mondays are typically a very busy day in the office and we didn't see your reply. Thank you for agreeing to send more photos. It will help to see both sink shelves in full view so we can see how and where they have been installed and what modifications have been made to them. Applying more lacquer to the area will help seal the crack if it is open. We will arrange for the lacquer to be sent to you immediately as agreed. Moving forward keeping the area as dry as possible, ensuring spills are wiped up reasonably quickly will help. Many thanks Traditional Beams

“After looking at shelving options for some time, I finally decided to place an order with Traditional Beams. The website is very informative and the order process was very easy. I was informed of when the shelves were going into the workshop for manufacture and also kept up to date with a dispatch date. The shelves arrived well packaged and are of very good quality.
