Simon and David continually put themselves in your shoes as a customer, something I find lacking so often elsewhere. No query was too small and call backs were within an hour. Simon was prepared to discuss our solar needs as a household, compared to some of their competitors who simply wanted to sell us a set package which would not have met our needs. They were prepared to invest time in building trust in them as a supplier – something that makes them stand out from the competition. We were kept informed regularly of when and how installation would happen and arrangements were made around some complicated domestic commitments. The installers were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable, providing clear guidance at the end on how to operate it all! Highly recommend.”

“We had our solar panels installed in May this year (2021). TCL Solar were one of three companies to visit us and give us a quotation. Since the installation our electric bill has dropped considerable. We wish we had done this a few years ago. Thank you TCL Solar. Highly recommended to anyone looking for Honest advice.”

“After undertaking wide research and quotes from a range of suppliers it was good to find someone reliable and with excellent feedback on the doorstep. Was an easy and swift experience. Had an in home visit from Simon. All questions answered and no pressure to buy or take any additional elements. We actually agreed on there being no need for batteries for my circumstances. Swift installation time, fitter and electrician were great, scaffolding went up at 8:30am on a Sat and the whole install was complete by 13:30. Was using my own power by 13:35! Within 20 minutes of sunshine the monitor was telling me to use devices to make the most of the system. Hoping for lots of sunny days to get the real benefit. Photo is as soon as the panels were up.”

“Was a great experience from start to finish. Kept in regular contact with Simon who always promptly returned my calls. Jim and Troy the scaffolders were brilliant as was Christian and Nathan who installed the PV system. Christian explained all of the system to me and made sure I was up and running on the app before he left. Would recommend Simon and the TCL team to anyone and already have!”

“Fantastic company! Very knowledgeable, honest and nothing is too much trouble. David kept in contact throughout the process with updates. On installation, Christian and the team found that we could get more panels on than first thought, so these were ordered and the job was completed within just over a week. “After suffering appalling customer service recently, from two of my banks, it was refreshing to deal with a company who knows what good customer service is, and practices it. My dealings with TCL Solar felt personal,both with Simon who talked me through what I thought I wanted and gently guided me to what was best for my situation,to David in the office who was quick to answer more techhnical queries and of course arrange a smooth installation.Both were easy to approach,not pushy, and I felt at ease with them.It did not stop there. The installation was completed in a morning, professionally and efficiently, by Chris and Dave who explained what they were doing, and gave a guided tour of the completed installation. It is always difficult to deal with "strangers" and part with a sizeable amount of hard earned money, but I would highly recommend TCL Solar, and not to worry about being pushed into buying something you didn't need, and get a first rate service.”

“Solar has been on my wish list for sometime now. My wife and I saw 4 companies with TCL Solar being one of them. The initial contact was over the phone from Simon, he then came out to see us and answered all of our questions. Simon wasn’t pushy, he just gave us the facts. The installation was completed by Dave & Liam. They worked extremely hard and got the job done in one day. If you’re looking for a company that’s competitive and friendly then I would highly recommend TCL Solar.”

“The company provided all the help and support required to make informed decisions. Both David and Simon cleared up any problems I had and their friendly no nonsense approach assured me in proceeding with the project. The price as very competitive. The date to install panels took 3 weeks from contract to completion, a brilliant turnaround especially as another company said 3 months! Work was completed within 6 hours by an excellent pair of guys. All up and working and I was given a work through and told to contact them immediately if a problem arose. An great service! The scaffolding was erected and dismantled for the job in an efficient professional manner with minimal disruption. I cannot fault any part of the process and I am very happy I chose TCL Solar and thoroughly recommend the company.”

“Very friendly and approachable company who never tried to oversell any products to my wife and I. As an OAP, I was sceptical about investing into solar and getting a return on my investment. My wife & I were soon reassured when we met Simon at our home survey, as he evaluated our personal needs and guided us through the options available. We were impressed with the no nonsense approach and honesty throughout the whole process, in particular our concerns as pensioners. The installation team were such lovely people to deal with:- kind- approachable- knowledgeable- courteous - respectful. Nothing was too much trouble and minimal disruption to our day. The system was installed, up and running in half a day and we now benefit from solar power contributing to lower our energy bills. We decided to go for one ‘bolt on’ extra - Solar I-Boost which is a clever device that diverts excess solar energy to the immersion heater whenever we are not using other appliances before feeding the back to the grid. We have a smart meter that shows energy consumption and our daily trickle consumption hovers around 95 watts when nothing is used, this drives all the transformers and gubbins that everyone has in a home- it’s great to see this is now zero throughout daylight hours. Overall we are delighted with our solar system which is infinitely expandable in the future such as additional panels and a battery pack. We recommend TCL Solar to anyone looking to invest in alternative power and lower energy costs. Peter & Joanna.”

“I was very pleased with the entire process of purchasing solar panels from Simon and David of TCL. When Simon came to my house to carry out the initial survey and provide a quote, I was not subjected to high pressure selling. Information about the solar panels and the installation process was provided in a clear and understandable manner. Follow up calls from TCL were on schedule and calls to them from me, were either answered immediately or the call was returned within the hour. Delivery of the panels was arranged for the day prior to installation and the whole pallet fitted into the garage where it remained overnight. The installation team (Liam and David - a different one) arrived on time the following morning and set to work. They were polite, friendly young men who worked quickly and neatly. There was no waste materials or rubbish left behind The 12 panels were in place and working in under 4 hours and thanks to sunny weather they were generating power within minutes. So far over 70 kilowatt’s of surplus power have been generated and fed back to the National Grid in a little over 65 hrs of daylight. The time taken from confirming the order and installation was about 10 days, so very prompt. I considered the price paid to be reasonable and fair. Overall I am a very happy customer. There is sufficient space on the roof to add up to 10 more panels in the future and I will be happy to go back to TCL for those panels in due course.”

“Decided to go solar to help reduce the energy bill, so started looking. Tried five companies, the last being TCL Solar. Sharp practices seem common in this industry, as I soon found out! That is until I spoke to David and Simon, and then Simon came round. What a refreshing change. Very professional, truthful, knowledgeable, and no hit of pushiness. Got the quote from David and significally cheaper than others for the same quality product. At this point I should say I do have a 'distant' business connection with the world of solar research, so I know who makes the best panels, and those are the ones David and Simon got and installed for us! Various things which other companies wanted to charge us a fortune for were included in the price with TCL. Things like scaffolding, iSolar for water heating, and bird guard. Christian came to survey things, and David and Liam did the installation. What a couple of great guys, and very pleasent and knowledgeable too. The inverter had to be mounted inside the garage so I assumed there would be dust and mess from the drilling etc, but when I went out there to clean up after they left I couldn't find anything to clean up, not on the lawns or paths either! David even took all the packaging away including the pallet the panels etc arrived on. Again, I was anticipating a trip to the tip myself to get rid of this. TCL Solar might not be the biggest company out there, and perhaps that is a real asset to them, but I found them both honest, truthful, and definitely willing to do that 'extra bit' to ensure I as a customer was happy. I this day of sloppy and half-hearted customer service it was a real breath of fresh air to see that at less one company knows how to do it! Would I recommend them, yes, without any reservation what so ever. It's only been two weeks since installation now, but I'm so glad we chose TCL, and I think you will be too.”

“Exceptional! Brilliant! 5 stars! The BEST by a mile - actually by MUCH more - but the common expression is to stick to "a mile", rather than a thousand miles :-) Let's just say TCL Solar went the "extra mile" from 1st contact to end of project! It will sound odd but, truth told, I'm sad that its ended. Fyi to readers of this review, no-one BUT NO-ONE, except my children take £10 off me easy :-) For reasons best kept to myself, albeit I will share some "back story" below - just to high light how amazing TCL have been - I don't take prisoners when agitated, especially when confronted with "industry-wide" dishonesty and to be more blunt - "industry sharks!". Some needed back story ... and, I'll try to cut a long story short, ... before TCL contacted me, I was still in horrified conflict with "used car" motor trade industry. Can somebody in Government please regulate - in stern law - the "used car" marketplace!? I'm inclined to run as an Independent MP just to fight this totally unregulated industry. It is truly the "Wild West"! For anybody that thinks that TV programme called "Westworld" is gruesome, just remember that TV is fiction, "used car" motor trade is fact! To end on motor trade, as it leads into my story about TCL .... after 6 weeks and battles with over 30 dealers, within a 12 hour time difference, I got £2,000 more for my "used car". And trust me, the 30th dealer than bought my car is "large" and "savvy". But, unlike prior 29 companies, they DID honest, common-sense business. I won and they won. In fact, 8 hours after I sold my car to 30th company, price went up by £250 across multiple valuation firms. I didn't care anymore. In fact, I was sort of happy for them, as they took my car at a fair-to-good price - 8 hours prior - so, they were most welcome to make MORE money on it. Which all brings me back to TCL Solar. By the time I came into contact with TCL, I was on an "industry-wide war path". I had started Solar Panel company investigations 4 weeks AFTER used car sale process started. TCL were 5th solar energy company to cross my path! 5th - please NOTE: 5th! Prior 4 had incensed me with a mix of great sadness, huge frustration and anger - for their collective mix of dishonesty, bungling/incompetence, "trying it on", and ON TOP, plain simple arrogance! As David and Simon and I can now look back on and giggle; truth is - I was hyper-aggressive with them. Why? 29 "used car" dealers later and 4 solar companies later ... I was "spitting blood" by the time TLC and I engaged! Remarkably, when nearing potential sale terms with TCL; when I got EVEN more aggressive and distrustful and was testing them ... they, were prepared to walk away from the deal. Basically, and truth told - I offended their honesty and integrity as brothers; a business and as two gentlemen. I didn't really mean too .... I was just in shock with "Wild West" nature of motor trade and very sad to advise; ditto with solar panel industry. Again ... maybe I should run as an MP, but won't ... as it doesn't pay enough to make it worth my while to fight these two - unregulated - and huge industries. Lol! Rest assured - should readers care - I have different methods of dealing with companies that will willingly exploit the vulnerable. So, I must bring this saga to an end ... as the crux of the matter is: once TCL were prepared to back-out for their "honour", it was a no-brainer for me ... to try and persuade them to contract with me. They had my trust. Fortunately for me, David and Simon agreed to do business with me. Truth is, I did have to persuade them :-) And WOW! Have they delivered in spades. Unbelievable! Dear readers of this review; trust me ... I've seen too much business and have battle medals and business scars a plenty; so much so, that at 53, I'm sick of business. BUT, in all my business career, it has been my privilege to have done business with TCL. From Simon & David - via Christian and Liam to [another] David and to Brin [the "visionary" scaffolder] - I have NEVER been so impressed by 6 different people, pulling together, against the odds - in such a tough business - as solar energy! All of them: charming, caring, professional, considerate, welcoming, interesting and interested. Just magnificent! Fascinating individuals that genuinely care about their customers. Amazing! I've spent my working life in "loyalty marketing" for biggest companies in the world. Many talk, but TCL and associates ... WALKED THE TALK! I only have one complaint versus TCL and associates :-) They have inspired me! They are magicians, true artisans. Men of their word. I had planned to quit business and walk into the sunset. Now, I may just have to build another company thanks to TCL and associates' solar panel installation. There you have - my only gripe. I wanted to be left in peace but they have motivated me :-) So, all in all, I cannot recommend TCL highly enough. For readers who might think I'm overly emotive ... all I can say is cross-quote to your hearts' content - as you should - and then, decide for yourselves. Keep safe. Best regards.
