I LOVED the old formula and mixed dark brown and medium chestnut brown for years. Since the formula changed I stopped using this brand. I have revisited it but am still disappointed with the new formula. The new formula colors have more orange tint to them. SO SAD!!! I bought every box of the old formula that I could find online. PLEASE bring back the old formula!!

Thanks for getting in touch! We're so sorry to hear that you aren't loving our Henna Cream colours as much as our previous semi-permanent range. The shades in the Henna Cream range are warm-toned by design as it's very tricky to formulate a high-performing Ash semi-permanent shade, but you might find that there's a shade in our Permanent colour range which better suits you. I have been dyeing my hair hazelnut blonde for two years using another brand but the color fades too quickly. I saw Tints of Nature at a local health food store and decided to try it. I bought the 6N Natural Dark Blonde formula which looked similar in color to my old brand. Even though my old color had faded to a medium blonde, this product dyed my hair DARK BROWN to almost BLACK. The conditioner was thick and lumpy, and not sufficient even to cover my fairly short hair. Maybe I purchased outdated product? To make matters worse, by the time I used the charcoal shampoo and the after-coloring shampoo (shampooing twice each time according to directions), my scalp was very dry and itchy even though I had no reaction to the skin test. The color does seem to be reasonably resistant to fading as I have been using non-color safe shampoo for several washes to lighten the color and it is still darker than I wanted. With my old brand I could color twice with one box. The Tints of Nature is a smaller amount, so there is too much for one application but not enough for two. I probably won't try Tints of Nature again.

Purchased this at local store for a natural alternative for hair coloring. I’ve tried all tips and tricks, tried to cover the grey for several times with this product with no coverage what so ever. Product is way to pricy for no color changes.

Please bring back the semi permanent tint! I have been using your semi permanent tint for about 7 years now to cover gray hair since I’m highly allergic to ppd/ptd. I tried your new henna products and they do not cover gray hair at all :( I’m very disappointed since I relied on Tints of nature products. I guess I’ll have to start looking for a new brand...

After washing hair the night before with a different brand of shampoo plus washing right before with your clarifying shampoo, I used 8N to cover my white roots. I left the dye on for 50 minutes. It covered about 20% of the white and darkened to a medium brown some of the rest of my hair. Where did I go wrong? That was the loss of half a day and sadly disappointing.

I have always been very happy with tints of nature semi permanent color, as I suffer from eczema and found this the only hair color I could trust. I mixed two colours which gave me the desired auburn results! However since it has now changed to henna semi permanent i have tried this, it does not cover grey roots, and also does not have similar colors! So a review please?

I have tried twice in the past week to colour my grey areas in my hair. It has not taken at all and am now left out of pocket because this product does not cover grey hair at all.

This was a risk for me. But, I wanted to invest in my wellbeing and I was drawn by the reviews for 'safe' hair coloring. My hair is short; it was a challenge to achieve all-over coverage with the amount of solution provided...I actually ran out before completing! First time ever using this product; but with similar products I have never had this problem. Initial order did not include my free gift as a new user and despite joining the color club -spending nearly $75. I received nothing additional -save the 'free' shipping. When I phoned to inquire abut the incentives promised added to my cart, I was told the error was on my end and they were unable to correct it. Their customer service rep suggested that I put another order in and that she would include the missed shipment with that....I declined. I am in the United States; The website runs very very slow -perhaps my challenges may be technical 'processing' related. As for the color itself, I feel it was gentle and effective; just not enough for full coverage.

It gave excellent coverage; however, the color is way darker than the package showed it would be. How can I lighten it safely? The color is dark brown and darker than any "medium blond" I have ever used.

I have been buying this dry shampoo for some time - say 4-6 times and the product is good, it stops me washing my hair too often, BUT . .. I asked this before, why do I have to buy dispensing bottle every time when I need a new supply? By the way, I usually put powder on my palm and dispense powder in that way instead of using the pump. Second, why do you have to pack your product in a plastic bottle in a box with a mass of plastic chips as if it is some breakable item when an envelope or a small cardboard tube could do?

Hi Gordana, thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately at present we do not have the components to be able to offer a saleable refillable bottle for our Dry Shampoo that avoids any micro-contamination risks. Our product is packed in a plastic bottle that can be recycled. At present the pump element can not be recycled due to the internal spring however this can be removed to make it fully recyclable. The box is made from recycled materials and is fully recyclable - the purpose of the box is to protect the item and it is a sales aid with all the information you need to use the product. Please note all the chips within our packaging are not plastic, they are made from corn starch and are 100% biodegradable and can be washed down the sink. This is standard protocol for all of our products to be packed with protective, biodegradable corn chips to ensure the product(s) you pay for arrive in new condition, undamaged. Grey hairs can be very stubborn and sometimes pre- treatments are required to help prepare your hair for better grey coverage. Additionally our permanent home hair colours can cover up to 100% grey hairs whereas our semi-permanents may only cover up to 80% of grey hair. We strive on making healthier products, our permanent home hair colours are made using the lowest possible levels of PPD, with 75% naturally derived and 95% certified organic ingredients. Permanent hair colour needs a certain amount of PPD in order for it to work as permanent hair colour. We would like to know a bit more about your thoughts surrounding our ingredients and what made you feel there were too many harsh chemicals? I bought the permanent colour; soft copper blonde which came out much darker than a 7. In addition, my scalp reacted badly; intense itching and flaking. i am very disappointed and will have to go back to more mainstream colourants.

I have dark brown and thick hair, which was dyed black but I wanted to return to my original hair colour. I used the 3N (Natural Dark Brown). The only difference I noticed that my hair is much softer and silkier than before, but all the hairs have been left untouched, clearly visible and distinguishable from the rest.

Hi Janos, thank you for your review and feedback. If your hair was previously coloured black, this would make it difficult for Tints of Nature shades to colour over it and lift it back to a 3N shade. Our colours will take your hair any shade darker and will lift your hair by one shade. We use the lowest possible levels of PPD in our permanent shades and therefore it will only lift your hair by one shade. The colour is a joke. I've purchased Fiery Red and after applying it, my hair turned dark cherry...? The only saving grace is that my hair feels nice

Our colour's results can vary depending on various reasons like current base hair colour and if the hair currently has colour on it. We always recommend carrying out a strand test prior to colour application after your skin sensitivity test to be sure you are happy with the result. Unfortunately even though I had no reaction to the patch test once applied to my hair I had a burning and tingling sensation. I have had reactions to conventional dyes and was hoping this my be an alternative, sadly I'm still looking.
