“We have been a bit disappointed with ours. We are very happy with the environmental credentials of the product but they are not fully effective at cleaning pans. We wouldn’t expect them to clean off baked on residues but they should be able to deal with moderate food residues. They keep their shape well.”

Thank you for trying our plastic-free sponge scourers. Loofah fibres are naturally coarse and have good scrubbing power, yet are gentle enough for non-scratch pans. If you require more heavy-duty cleaning, we suggest our copper scourers or washing-up brush

“I really loved the idea of these, and they are so much nicer to use than a normal washing up sponge. I found them more effective too. I've only scored three stars because unfortunately my Seep came apart after only three days!”

Hello, thank you for trying our sponge scourers and liking them. They are stitched together with a natural cotton thread, as we are 100% plastic-free, so no glue is used. We understand that this can be frustrating when this happens to a sponge (which is still usable) but please do get in touch with us at hello@theseepcompany.com

“I like the products but am dissapointed to learn that they are made in China, how can these be eco friendly when that involves shipping and transport. I wont be buying again unfortunately”

We are glad that you like the sponge scourers. We try to source as close to home as possible, but there are several reasons we have to source from China, including not being able to find suppliers here that are able to produce the products we need in the right quality, quantity, and specifications. “Not used everything in the starter pack however had to replace the gloves after 1 week of use, these are very thin and not sure if I got a pair that were faulty has there was a tiny hole in one of them. I do like the washing pads and feel that I will go with these in the future.”

“Good points....no plastic, long lasting Bad points......not flexible enough especially when cleaning inside smaller glasses and cups Not as good at scouring in comparison to others I don't have a dishwasher so use them all day long but they don't seem to dry out overnight Sorry....I'm disappointed”

Hello Christine, Thank you for trying our sponge scourers and liking the idea of them. The sponge scourers need to be dried out before they can be packaged and dispatched to customers. Rinse under water and give them a little massage before use to soften up. The sponges will become softer upon continued use with washing-up liquid. They will also soften up with usage, so the longer you use it, the softer and more malleable it gets. You can speed this up by popping it into the washing machine or dishwasher a few times. Alternatively, you might like our pop-up sponges, which are a sponge without the loofah on it. Being 100% plastic-free and made from natural materials, they can feel different from the plastic sponges that we are used to.

“The feeling I had when I received the box was ‘gosh I paid alot for this’ - the fact is that the promo video was compelling and the mention of 2 Dragons nailed it - without that no way woukd i have parted with £51 for non liners and some scourers ! Produces are good however”

“It's OK and the fact that it helps to save the planet, then I'm all for it. However, the rougher side, I thought, was meant to do the heavy work and get rid of hard to remove muck, but I'm not finding that the case. Even when I scrub really hard.”

“I am a little disappointed. I don't find them very durable. The sponge side is braking up.I have a years supply but I don't think I will be buying them again.We are all trying to do a bit for this planet so for that I am pleased.”

“Like so many companies, there is a constant cry for a review. Most of these land in my email before I have even had time to use and evaluate what I purchased. This would be true of your products. How I long for the days when you went into a shop and bought a product and NO ONE chased you for a review.”

“The sponge cloths are excellent and highly absorbent. The sponge scourers have a couple of fundamental flaws- they are very inflexible, so are difficult to use on smaller items like mugs, and they are almost impossible to dry out. This is a shame, as we love the eco credentials. As drinkers of tea without milk, we get stained mugs, so a scourer for mugs is essential for us.”

We recommend rinsing them under water and giving them a gentle massage before use to soften them up. The sponges will become softer with continued use and washing up liquid. They will also soften up with usage, so the longer you use it, the softer and more malleable it gets. You can speed this up by popping it into the washing machine or dishwasher a few times. Our bamboo brush is great if you need a little extra with stains, or if it's really stubborn, we make a paste with some baking soda and water, apply to the mug and leave this on for 20 mins then was off :-)

“Very pleased to be buying cleaning items made without plastic! I am delighted with the pack of 3 bamboo cloths. Really good quality. Also purchased 12 pack of eco sponge scourers. However the arthritis in my hands makes them very difficult to use due to the scourer's lack of pliability.”

“I think this brand is doing a lot right. I like their values and what they’re trying to achieve. However, it is expensive, the sponges aren’t as effective as plastic ones, and I was particularly frustrated to have the product arrive in a box which was packed into another larger cardboard box for no reason. The whole point of spending more for a less good product is to look after the environment so this was frustrating.”

If you require more heavy- duty cleaning, we suggest our copper scourers or washing- up brush. As for the box that it arrived in, we know that due to changing warehouses we have had an issue with this, but hopefully it has now been resolved so won't happen again.
