“I love that the sponge is biodegradeable. But the sponge falls to pieces within 30 days. When I bouhg my first batch of four they were being promoted as lasting three months - now I see that they ads say two months - but by day 32 my spnge is a collection of pieces. I cannot justify the cost of these. I am attempting to be as Green as you can get - Green party Member - Campaigns Director for our district - running a website on Skool all about the Climate Crisis. I want this to work. PLease please please - either reduce the cost or lengthen the life span.”

Hello, thank you for using our sponge scourers. They last between 4-8 weeks. We have pretty good quality control for all of our products and check each batch that goes out of our factories, but unfortunately, some not-quite-right products do occasionally slip through. We track these product issues and work with our factories to improve them the next time. Often they arise because we're using natural materials, which are more difficult to work with. “This is my first purchase from you and was really looking forward to using them. I have been using the sponge for just over a week and unfortunately it has started to fall apart. Have sent photos, so not impressed as my cheap ones last longer.”

“Great concept. 10 out of 10 for trying. 2 out of 10 for actualising it because there’s not enough sponge in proportion to this big scourer, making it almost impossible to use. Nice try but come back in a year or two when you’ve got it right. This doesn’t work the way you want it to at all.”

“The bags are unfortunately too flimsy. They break down too quickly, so I now have to use them with another brand outside to stop them falling apart. Such a shame.”

“My sponges with the loofah top have fallen apart after about 10 days use. They were too big and too stiff too. The sponge itself is still in use but breaking up. Not that much washing up as there are only 2 of us at home.”

“I ordered some sponges from here and and get a sales e-mail what seems like every week. I like what they do but really don't want to hear them wanging on about their products all the time. I agreed to receive e-mails, yes, and I know I can always unsubcribe but should I really have to? Aren't they intelligent to know that this is excessive? Put yourself in other people's shoes. You wouldn't want to hear from yourselves this much either.”

“The sponges are ok but the rubber gloves are useless. They are baggy with no shape to keep them on your hands. Gave them to a gardening friend to use in his garden and brought some new fitted ones. Won’t be using your company anymore, sorry.”

Thank you for trying some of our products. We are sorry that you feel that they aren't for you. Our gloves are one of the first natural rubber household gloves to market in the UK that have passed biodegradability testing (in accordance with ASTM D5511), and we are super proud of this. Other gloves can afford to have thicker beads at the top, whereas ours conform to compostability and biodegradability testing, meaning that in order to comply, we cannot have this very thick elastic band. We do have a slight beaded edge for this reason. As a result, we recommend slightly folding in the gloves to stop them from dropping down. But we are happy that a friend is able to make good use of them.

“I was really keen to try this product. Specially the washing sponges due to their environmental credentials and zero plastic. Unfortunately, they didn't last long, and after 2 weeks of use the sponge is completely damaged and unusable. I still like the fact that they are zero plastic, but considering I need to replace them very very often then the price is too high. They also smell bad after a week, and I made sure I rinse after each use.”

“I purchased a selection of items from Seep in order to do my bit for the environment. I found that the sponge/scourer only lasted 2 weeks before breaking up - as against the advertised 4 weeks/month. The bin bags were very expensive and despite the description of being tested for tears, the bin bag tears easily especially if it snags. The cloths faired better perhaps because they are not used that intensively, and these tend to be on smooth surfaces such as the table or worktop. I was hoping to make the switch to more environmentally friendly products, but I was sold the dream and unfortunately Seep did not deliver.”

The sponge scourers need to be dried out before they can be packaged and dispatched to customers. Rinse under water and give them a little massage before use to soften up the sponges, which will become softer upon continued use with washing up liquid. They will also soften up with usage, so the longer you use it, the softer and more malleable it gets. You can speed this up by popping it into the washing machine or dishwasher a few times.
