Tefl Academy's Level 5 TEFL Course (168 hrs) made it easy for me to get my certification without having any impact on my regular life. I learned everything necessary and am surprised at how prepared I am to Teach english

For someone who has never undertaken anything like this before, I found the 168 hour course interesting and challenging. To achieve a distinction working at my own pace was very rewarding, not having the pressure of deadlines made the course far less intimidating.

The course was split into nice short and complete lessons with ample activities and end of unit tests to practice.

I really learnt a lot about grammar and language learning, which not only helped me with my TEFL course and future teaching, but also with learning a second language myself. I thought a lot of information was packed into a fairly short course. The activities in particular helped to consolidate this knowledge and helped to check that I had correctly understood the information given.

It gave me a better understanding of how we should go about teaching English as a foreign language - and how to apply the various teaching methodology to various levels of competency among potential students. This is done in a clear, concise manner via the online website. The introductory 'practise teaching' course of 20-hours that was co-ordinated by an experienced teacher, who was au fait with the TEFL methodology, really set the groundwork for what was to come in the course theory. The teacher was excellent - and the perfect example of what is expected of us as would-be TEFL teachers. The online platform is of an exceptionally high standard - and worked very efficiently - and I experienced no technical hitches though the duration of my studies. The problem with online study though, is that the message might not always be clear to the student - and not necessarily a fault of the service provider of course. However, that being said, the tutor feedback is very prompt and excellent, if any enquiry has to be made. I do however think, that the turnaround times for marking an end of course assignment could be quicker, but probably understood if moderators are inundated with scripts for marking.

I feel like a learned a lot and I'm ready to start my teaching abroad. I think The TEFL Academy's course covers everything you need to learn. The site is easy to navigate and help is always a mouse click away. I received constructive feedback on my 3 assignments. The classroom training was very enjoyable as well and I was able to learn valuable teaching techniques.

I have just finished my Level 5 TEFL 168-hours course and I am very excited to receive my certificate by post! I have enjoyed doing the course and it was perfect for me because I also work full time and have quite a busy schedule. It wasn’t an easy journey though and I struggled on completing the assignments, but the fact that the course was very streamlined and the website easy to navigate was a really big help. Overall I am very happy with the whole experience and I can definitely say it was well worth the time and effort, and a great value for money. A whole world of opportunity is now open for me and I’m very much looking forward to starting a new career in teaching.

I just completed (and passed) the Level 5 TEFL Course (168 hrs). This included an intensive weekend with other students, learning within a classroom setting to fully understand the techniques. The teacher and venue were great. I then embarked on the online course. It was comprehensive and I felt I learnt loads over the duration. Would definitely recommend this to others who are searching for a TEFL qualification - thanks!

I would recommend the TEFL Academy to anyone looking at gaining their TEFL accreditation. The learning materials were well written, going into lots of detail. The quality of the tutor support was good - I raised an online ticket to clarify my understanding on one of the grammar modules, and also for some clarification of the task on the final assessments, and these were picked up and answered in a matter of hours. The two final assessments were challenging, but provided a really useful insight into lesson planning and creating your own teaching activities. I found the weekend classroom methods course invaluable, and a lot of fun. Overall, the TEFL Academy course offers high quality teaching support, and I thought this was great value for money.

The TEFL academy opened up a whole new world to me, that of having the confidence to teach English and see the world, explore different cultures in the process.

I found the practical component of this course really gave me the skills and confidence to teach in a real world classroom. The teacher was very good, and offered great examples of how one should behave and teach in the classroom. The online component feels a little overwhelming at times, and does not hold back any information at all. This means one can sometimes feel that there is too much, but once the practical component has been completed the online parts become much clearer. I would recommend this TEFL course to anyone.

I really enjoyed the TEFL course that I did through TEFL Academy! I studied the Level 5 TEFL Course (168 hrs), I took the one that included the practical training session from an expert/qualified teaching here in South Africa. That helped me so much! It made me do my assignments much quicker and better understand what was expected of me. The course is structured in a very good way, lots of examples, focused topics - pronunciation, grammar, about English the language, how to give a lesson, lesson planning, lesson activities/exercises, how to be a good teacher etc. and they also focused on teaching a variety of age groups so that you could know how to teach/approach all of them. Now I just need to get some experience and that takes time, but great to know that I can teach online and part-time and also overseas if I want to travel. Thanks TEFL Academy - loved your course and the opportunities you are giving me!

The Course I pursued, the 168h option, was very extensive and detailed. It looked at all aspects of teaching English as a foreign language, be it vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, or simply daily situations that can be roleplayed for experience and practice. The practical classroom weekend was also very useful and well organised, being basically an extremely condensed version of the entire course. Overall, I am very pleased with the course itself, with the resources provided and the help and support available.
