I was enrolled in the Level 5 course. The course is informative. I did learn a lot about the English language and language teaching. It offers fun activities and simple tests. The design of the website is appealing and easy to navigate. However, I sometimes felt there was just too much course content in some instances and this became quite boring or tedious to get through. A month since completion and I'm yet to get any responses to job applications, so I'm not sure yet if the course was worth it and if I have to spend more money on top-up courses.

The course is boring (ironic since it's prodominantly about how to make lessons effective and engaging for students) But it does the trick The most annoying thing is how long it's currently taking for them to send the PDF of my Certificate after my completion of the course.

The level 5 course was very informative. Student support was very helpful and prompt. The online platform that was used was very easy to understand and structured very well, so were the assignments. I would highly recommend this course to anyone interested.

While the course itself is comprehensive, challenging and professional, I am extremely disappointed that the Academy did not disclose up front that it would be almost impossible to find work through agencies without a minimum BA degree and teaching experience. Moreover, I suspect that my age may be a disadvantage too. I now find myself, R3,500 and 120 hours of hard work later, with little prospect of finding students. This is false advertising! I have not yet received my certificate, but it may be worthless anyway :(

I studied the Level 5 TEFL course and found it interesting and really useful. Course itself is easy to navigate and full of helpful tips and resources. Assignments were varied and made you really think about what you've learnt. My rating would be higher but for two things. I waited 11 days for my second assignment to be marked and I couldn't even find out what the situation was until I bought an extension. This was annoying but the main issue for me was that it wasn't possible to speak to anyone who could answer academic questions. I'd tried the support ticket system and had an email back but it was obvious that they hadn't read my question properly as the answer referred to the bit of the assignment I had a query on but in no way addressed my actual issue. I would much prefer to be able to speak on the phone to a tutor to get an immediate answer. (R. Williams - Only submitted as 'anonymous' because other option includes all names.)

This course is well structured and quite comprehensive. I loved the various ideas for lessons and thought assignments were interesting. Feedback was quick and constructive. Have recommended the course to others...

The Level 5 TEFL Course (168 hrs) was understandable for the most part, however, when it came to assignments, it became difficult to understand everything that was required and not all instructions were 100% clear.

As John Fortescue didn't do the TEFL course he cannot write a review. It would be sensible to get the name of the person who did do the course - Phoebe Fortescue if you really want a review. Admin obviously isn't great.

Finally completed the 120hrs. The course wasn't to bad. Some modules better than others. The school is quick to respond to emails and grade the end of course assignments. However, feedback on the assignments seem generic. I got my certificate in the mail way before a month like quoted, so that was great! Overall, I am happy with the course and hope to find employment soon!

The TEFL Academy made me happy by making it easy for me to understand the course material. The online classes was very well structured and the information was arranged logically which for me was great and facilitated my understanding of the learning material.

The 120 hour course is great - depending on why you are doing it. If, like me, you are there to get another qualification and perhaps do a little teaching whilst you travel it is great. Really comprehensive and helpful. However, if this is a change of career and you want to become a teacher then it is not for you! I do not think a 120 hour course can prepare you enough if you are serious about becoming a teacher. Also, be aware that it is not a doss. I think many people are misinformed about what is involved in a TEFL course, it is not multiple choice or something you could do in an evening. There are real essays and lesson plan assignments, which involve concentration and some outside research!
