“I found the course very thorough and it covered all parts of teaching English. I chose the course because of the classroom based element which I feel is really important and I learnt some vital skills in doing so. To improve the course I would like to see the tutor student communication improved and make there a continuous dialogue between them to help with any queries. Overall it was an excellent course, thank you very much.”

“I would thoroughly recommend The TEFL Academy if you want to study to become a TEFL teacher. The weekend course was great, I learnt so much from the tutor, as well as having constructive feedback on all of the tasks given. The online course was well laid out and clear, with enough information in the course materials to enable you to confidently complete the modules. The TEFL Academy were very prompt in responding to any enquiries that I had, as well as marking coursework quickly and efficiently. My certificate arrived very promptly after completion of the course. I am a very happy student who would highly recommend the TEFL Academy.”

“When I decided to do this course I had no idea how brilliant and intense was it. TEFL is without any hesitation a benchmark course which offers a glimpse about teaching universe. Furthermore, all teachers are extremely competent and give us all support that we need to face this lovely and challenge area. From my point of view, this course was able to open the front door of teaching approaches and, on the other hand, my confidence as main character of this process . I would like to thank you very much for everyone who planned and organised this course!”

“I was very happy to attend this course in London where I met lovely people. We exchanged which was very nice. What I liked was the fact that we came from different cultures and backgrounds. That is great. The online course taught me a lot. I had to do some research and although I have been teaching for years I have learnt and improved a lot. I am now able to use all the materials for my courses and that is great. The teachers were very quick to give you some clear feedback. Now I want to go further and studied to get the TESOL.”

“I have no previous experience of teaching and didn't really know what to expect. The 2 days classroom training at the beginning of the course was very interesting and I enjoyed it. Then the next step was to tackle the 10 online modules. I liked the way that each module started with information, instructions and advice on how to complete the module. Then it was up to you to complete each exercise and send it in to be marked. I found some easier than others and nearly gave up when one particular module was rejected twice. However I persevered and finally completed the course. I feel satisfied having received enough points for a merit pass.”

“I would definitely recommend this course. It is very beneficial for people who want a career change or want to discover a quick way of working abroad with good pay rates. The course is well structured and covers all aspects of teaching, the practical 20 hours helps you decide whether teaching is a job for you or not, as it implements real teaching skills.”

“The workshop gave good practical teaching advice and covered a range of topics that TEFL teachers need to know. Grammar, specific teaching methods and activity ideas. It also allowed for actual teaching time as well which was good to get feedback on your teaching style and ways to improve. The online material was very accessible and easy to follow along and gave a clear idea of what was expected in each assessment. Each assessment was graded quickly with good feedback at the end of each one.”

“I would recommend this course to anyone short on time but who wants to get an overview of what is involved in TEFL. And of course there is a qualification at the end of it. The classroom based teaching is an excellent introduction, particularly helpful for those that have never done any teaching before. Those it is "only" 20 hours in the classroom it is pretty intensive and really makes you think and work. The online section of the course is again quite intensive. It covers a lot of theory and there is a lot of practical work to be done. Hopefully each module will leave you with something practical to take into the real world. Staff were very helpful both during and after the course. All in all, I would say that if you are thinking of doing this course, stop thinking and just do it!”

“This course provides you with everything you need to know to teach English as a foreign language and even once you've completed it the TEFL Academy will continue to assist you with any placements you apply for. The course begins with 20 hours of classroom work over one weekend where you will be taught a knowledgeable instructor, practice your own teaching to the class and receive feedback afterwards. The instructor I had was very knowledgeable, having taught English in several different countries and was able to fully answer any questions any of us students had. Once you have passed this you move onto online work, which you have one year to complete. The online work involves essays, lesson planning and a grammar questionnaire. The lesson planning modules will provide you with much needed practice in creating lesson plans, which is the number one thing you'll need when teaching abroad. The essays will help you realise certain hows/ whys/ whens etc, such as how to manage a classroom, different teaching styles etc. The grammar test was the most daunting as you have no idea what questions will be asked. It is, however, only a 10 question exam, and you are provided with the information to study before doing it, as does each module. Overall, the course is not difficult to pass if you commit to it. Each of the online modules comes with information to read up in order to complete the essay or lesson plan. If you wish to receive Distinction you may need to do some additional on the side study. Overall, the course will put you in good stead for teaching English abroad, the TEFL Academy is fully recognized and accredited and considering how cheap the price of the course is if you're thinking about it you may as well just do it.”

“I have found this course very informative. Tutors are always there for you to help, answers come in a matter of hours and it is always well researched. It leaves you with a lot of personal freedom: you can either finish the course in two weeks or 10 months. I am now working in an American school in China and if I am in doubt, I come back to my assignments and check for anything I need to know.”

“I decided to look for TEFL course thinking of changing of employment direction. I lam from Poland where there is a huge demand for English tuition. This course gave me a chance to meet a really great teacher. Who gave tremendous amount of information in such a short period of time? So many different ideas and approaches how to teach someone who doesn’t speak English. The on line course more demanding than I thought but good though. I took a year to complete but I did it. The feedback on the assignments were brilliant, very helpful. The course was fun not expensive I do recommend it.”

“I am very glad I chose the TEFL Academy 120 hour course, as it fully prepared me to start as an EFL teacher. The taught part of the course was excellent and thoroughly enjoyable and the environment in the classroom was friendly and welcoming. It was great to meet so many people of different ages and with different backgrounds. The online course was presented clearly and the variety of the assignments is great. I particularly enjoyed the last module where I created my own resource, which I have now used for an actual lesson! Any queries I had whilst doing the course were quickly solved and the assignment feedback was always delivered very promptly. The course is great value for money and having 20 hours classroom time as part of the course definitely looks good on your CV. I would definitely recommend the TEFL Academy to anyone looking to make a great start to your teaching career!”

“I would recommend the Tefl Academy to anyone wanting to gain a qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language because it has great resources, covers a wide range of topics and the modules are relevant and challenging. I have learnt a lot and now feel able to teach anywhere in the world. I now feel able to produce great lesson plans and even created a whole scheme of work that I will be able to use in the future. The practical part of the course is extremely useful and you get the opportunity to practice teaching skills and receive great feedback. The course is fantastic value for money.”

“I decided to look for TEFL course to aid a change of employment direction. I live in Hong Kong where there is a huge demand for English tuition The TEFL Academy provides an easy and flexible introduction, and the cost is very reasonable as well! So I signed up to take a 100 hr. course in Central London whilst I was in the UK on vacation. . My course started with 2 full days in a classroom tucked away near the British Museum. ( It is a fun place to learn right in Central London) In those two days we were shown how to tech someone who doesn’t speak English, shown classroom technique and given many good ideas and sources of teaching materials to use. The course was stimulating and I really enjoyed the two days, in fact I wished it had been longer it was such fun. The on line course work follows the two days, and although it was said that some students have completed it in a week, I took rather longer to complete my homework! The course materials were clear, easy to read and any enquiry was answered promptly. Feedback on my assignments was delivered quickly and in some detail. It was really helpful. The course was a really fun and inexpensive way to learn some basic TEFL skills. I strongly recommend it.”

“Before starting the course i was anxious that I wouldn't have the education and life skills to be able to complete the course, especially as I was the youngest in the class during the practical 20 hours in Brighton. However with the friendly atmosphere during the practical, the clear materials online and the valuable feedback given on the modules you complete, I now feel encouraged to take the step to finding a TEFL job despite my current age (19)! The academy were very understanding when I asked if I could extend my course (as I was completing my A Levels along side) and also when my internet connection was lost during the times grammar test. I really appreciate all of the help and support they have gave me over the year and even now with the help to create a CV to find a TEFL job for my gap yea, or possibly gap life! An academy I would really recommend joining if you are looking to find a group of people who will give you honest knowledge on how to teach English in today's world, thank you to the TEFL Academy! :)”
