“So here's the thing about being asked—and let's not even get into the passive-voice evasion of agency implicit in "have been asked," as if by some nameless bureaucratic void or maybe the purchase-confirmation email's auto-generated guilt-trip footer that's probably A/B tested to optimize for compliance—to compose a review of what was essentially a frictionless instantiation of late-capitalist exchange: the very request contains its own negation, a kind of performative contradiction that would've delighted the Frankfurt School if they'd lived to see the internet's transformation of every minor transaction into an opportunity for unpaid affective labor. Because what even is there to say? The thing—let's call it The Product, capital-T capital-P—arrived. It arrived, moreover, in a condition consistent with its advertised specifications and within a timeframe that violated neither the explicitly stated delivery window nor the internalized expectations formed by years of conditioning to Amazon Prime's temporal compression of desire and fulfillment. The box was box-shaped. The packing materials performed their packing function. Nobody was rude to me. No existential crises were precipitated. And yet here we are, in this confessional-booth-slash-panopticon of consumer feedback, where the absence of disaster must be narrated, quantified, star-rated, thumbs-upped, where my failure to participate marks me as somehow antisocial or at minimum a free-rider in the great distributed project of information-sharing that supposedly makes markets efficient but really just creates an infinite regress of meta-commentary about increasingly granular aspects of commodity exchange. The review-request email—and they always send one, don't they, with that precisely calibrated delay suggesting both genuine interest in your satisfaction and also the cold algorithmic optimization of engagement metrics—wants me to help "other customers." But what customer, genuinely deliberating over this purchase, is going to be swayed by my testament that yes, the laws of physics and commerce still obtained, that money and goods were exchanged without anyone being actively defrauded or injured? ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Product existed and arrived" would be the honest review, which is to say: useless.”

“Everything with pi hut was good. However, I still haven't received my order yet as the delivery service (evri) is very poor. They said they have attempted my delivery 3 times and have now sent it back to pi hut. I was at home all day on 2 of the days that the attempted deliveries were made. Doorbell didn't ring once. Evri advised me to contact pi hut again if I still wanted the parcel. I have done this but am still waiting.”

“Everything went great. The order was received very quickly. I'm really happy to support the Pi Hut rather than purchase on Amazon, which doesn't have as good of a selection. I'm certain there are plenty of tutorials and documents out there to support how to build the pi's, but I went through gemini to find a list of parts for a small robotic platform. The challenge there is that while it's good, it's not great at giving me all the information I need reliably. So perhaps a jump into the LLM world on building with Pi would be a great idea. The LLMs have already modified my behavior so much that reading long documentation to find answers to my questions seems like such a long slog :D :D I love the store, thank you for everything!”
