“Service via the heating oil club is very good. Although queries are answered via e-mail, it would sometimes benefit the customer, to have a contact telephone number for the delivery company that takes on their order. This would eliminate waiting for a reply of a question to the club, who have to contact the company and then e-mail you back again. I was grateful to have been contacted with early warning , as requested,when the delivery was likely to be , as I needed to be here.”

“Everything was fine EXCEPT that I was promised that the supplier would contact me before the actual delivery date - this did NOT happen. It is important that I am present when the delivery is made but the only information I was given was the initial "it will be on or before" a certain date. When I queried this I was given the additional assurance mentioned above, but nothing materialised. When using other similar sites there has usually been an option to request notification the day before the actual delivery and that has usually happened. Perhaps The Heating Oil Club should include a similar opt-in question on their website - and then ensure that their suppliers honour any such requests. As it turned out the delivery took place on the scheduled date and I was at home at the time - but it would have been much better service if I had received the promised communication.”

“All went smoothly. The only minor niggle was the lack of clarity in the process for obtaining the Aga additive we required. The quote & confirmation did not include the cost nor whether it would be added on delivery or left in a bottle for us to add after delivery. In the event, it was pre-added and the cost was included in the amount actually charged.”

“I joined the heating oil club after moving here a couple of years ago. Initially, I obtained a quote from them along with quotes from individual oil suppliers. Following virtually the same experience of finding that the prices quoted by the club were the cheapest I now tend to obtain a quote from them & place an order. It saves time and haggling with individual suppliers”

“On occasions The Heating Oil Club are competitive, sometimes not. Therefore, when they are, I'll order the minimum order of 500 litres. Delivery times after order is placed can be up to 14 days.”

“I have used the heating oil club several times for my heating oil. Generally, I have found the club offers a reasonable price for oil. I check prices daily and always thoroughly research prices before ordering. Unlike some other “Discount syndicate “ style suppliers the Club generally reduce or increase their prices in line with the daily Brent Crude oil price. They remain competitive and always offer one of the best quotes but, as the heating oil market is unregulated, I would always recommend obtaining at least 3 quotes prior to ordering.”
