“The 120 hr course is awesome. But would have loved to have downloadable resources for students to refer to them whenever stuck. The videos summarize the contents very well but those who pay attention to everything else, see the Presenter as being in the same place and the same attire throughout which doesn't add variety to the presentation.
I don't know if I might have done poorly on the tests to get a mere pass. But if not, then giving a pass is not good enough motivation”

What was a bit disappointing is that upon completion I couldn‘t be offered a job in Hong Kong because I was not a native speaker. I have a degree in translation and studied in English, so I don‘t see any reason for why I cannot teach English.”

“Over the summer, I started off on a journey to discover my prospects and possible interest in teaching as a career. Some of this motivation was intrinsic, but I did have friends, my supervisor and even family prompting me towards exploring the possibility in a world where I only know few people that want to be teachers.
I decided to take a few courses to check my interest, as well as, aid my transition from being a full time researcher into practical teaching. One of the course which I undertook was the 170 hr TEFL UK course which included 20 hrs of supervised teaching practice.
Over the course of 3 months, I learned that I do have a strong desire to teach. I did learn a lot of relevant skills I believe I would use as an ESL teacher or teacher of any subject frankly, however, I would say the most rewarding part of my journey was being able to volunteer my time towards supporting TEFL UK in empowering Ukrainian refugees by teaching them English as a second language, and seeing how this enabled these displaced individuals integrate with the society they found themselves in.
My hope is to continue to find fulfilment on this journey of learning and educating wherever it takes me. I do think this might be my little way to touch the world positively, one mind at a time.
