“It was well structured and the information given was well explained so I could complete tasks well. Joanna was my tutor and her feedback was always clear and she always gave me another lesson plan example which was great to read after completing a specific assignment. Overall I had fun completing this course and acquired so many new skills!”

“I wish there was a way that we could communicate better with the people correcting our work. Sometimes I really did not understand the feedback and I could not really talk to them to explain my answers. Also when you think outside of the box with activities they will correct you wrong which I do not understand. Overall was fine though. Also I wish there was a unit on how to mark things, this course was giving more how to tutor than be a teacher.”

“A very thorough and well structured course, academically the 120 hr is more challenging once you start on the assignments, online is very convenient but don’t underestimate the self discipline required to make a success of it, I completed mine in 11 weeks.”

“I thought the TEFL course was very good. It wasn't difficult for me but content-rich. Part way through the Methodology course I got a little demotivated because I was worried about the time frame for completion but then discovered that three of the courses were a lot shorter. It would have been good if the intro had mentioned that. You could move through the material at a good pace and all the videos kept it interesting. The least interesting were some of the classroom ones but after a while, I was more engaged by them. The quizzes were great. I made a point of going back and re-doing if I didn't get 100%, which I think helped everything sink in. I think more clarification could be brought to the difference between controlled practice and free production. As someone else reviewed, there was a contradiction in the Methodology course about chain stories. At first, I was thrilled to receive 100% on assignments but after the third time, I clicked that 100% was basically saying that I had understood and had passed. I would have preferred to get 80%, 92% and so on and I would have liked to have had a grade on my certificate (Fail, Pass, Merit, Distinction). Also, there were multiple clicks to get the feedback on the assignments, which I didn't realise initially. It is great to be able to download parts of the course for future reference. Overall, I really enjoyed the course and felt motivated by it. Thanks!”

“It was a good experience overall. It pushed me to my limits and I’ve learned a lot in the process. I had issues with my first tutor but the team resolved it quickly k and gave me an excellent tutor, Tutor Dee, who I highly recommend.”

“The course was extremely thorough and included tons of demos and video examples. My tutor was very quick to respond and provided exceptional feedback and examples which helped me improve my own lesson plans. I feel very confident to start teaching! My only note for improvement is to clean up the typos and punctuation inconsistencies as there were quite a few throughout the whole course.”

“Generally i thought the assignments were good, the quizzes were a bit too easy, you dont really have to go through all of the theory in order to pass them, which is good on one hand because you finish more fast, but if you are looking to actually proof the knowledge learned, maybe the questions have to be a bit more challenging. I thought the course would be more interactive, so maybe with skype or any video call, so that the teacher can give more specific feedback and also because writing a lesson plan and holding a lesson with presence and in live are two very different things. Overall it gave me a good general base for starting to teach online and for volonteering in classes abroad.”

“I liked it a lot, I think the lessons are very well explained and easy to remember. The down side for me is how stressful it is the process of the quizzes and the tasks because of the 3 attempts, and also with the tasks that I find that of the questions were not as clear or specific as they should have been, and then I answered what it was asked and the tutor failed me and asked me for some extra information that not always was stated on the questions.”

“If you want to know the measure of any company, ask how they treat their most vulnerable customers. I am highly functioning neurodivergent, and I'm also a DA survivor. Starting life from scratch is hard, TEFL is my escape - a chance to keep mobile, and keep safe. For starters the TEFL Org rep I spoke to helped me see my own potential. I was dubious at first, but then for the first time in my life I'm being told my jumbled list of qualifications and disciplines doesn't hold me back: it might give me an advantage in this job market. The tutor was patient, especially when (being neurodivergent) I had unique struggles with the course. My tutor and The TEFL Org staff did everything they could possibly have done to help me, to ensure I'd actually finish my qualification. I had a lot of 'life' stuff to sort out, so it took me longer. With the support offered on the website and from their reps, I'd already started tutoring online by the time I finally passed my qualification. I've already been told I'm one of the best (or the best) tutors some of those students have had, and some of them have been using online tutors for years. I really can't thank them enough. I learned a lot too. I would never have met those students if it wasn't for the encouragement and support of The TEFL Org. Thanks to them I have more than a qualification: I have hopes, dreams, and a newly found sense of self-worth.”
