“I have completed a 120-hour online course and am quite happy with it. Grammar and Methodology courses are great and very useful and I am already applying the tips in my everyday work. Three other courses I liked slightly less. The Video Observation course seemed the weakest one to me - the examples of bad lessons were ridiculously obvious. Telephone Teaching and Teaching Large Classes were quite useful but lacked real-life lesson examples. Speaking in general, I think that 120-hour course is a good investment and I am happy that I took it.”

“TEFL is a great course but one that somewhat feels hollow. The examples are vague and the demonstration videos aren't entirely helpful. The descriptions also require more depth. When one assignments feel like it's worth accomplishing the other two feel like a filler assignment that holds no real value. A great course if you're a beginner beginner. But if you came from a background of the more modern-day schooling this course is no use to you. It's the same "discover this" when all the students really want is for you to tell them what "Past Continuous" is.”

“I have only completed the 30hr. grammar course so far. I found it to be comprehensive, well-delivered and just what I was hoping for. I have never studied grammar and this course gave me an excellent foundation and resources to use when I begin teaching.”

“The TEFL course I completed was very informative, accessible and affordable. I appreciated that I could complete it in my own time while taking notes. The assignments provided good insight into what would be required as an English teacher, particularly the development of various lesson plans. The content was provided in an easy-to-understand format, yet the presenters were still very professional. I appreciated having a real person in the form of my tutor (Thomas) to review/mark my assignments and provide helpful and relevant feedback. Overall, I was very impressed with the course and will be recommending it to people interested in becoming TEFL certified.”

“I enjoyed doing the course. It was informative and easy to navigate. My tutor, Joanne, was very helpful. I especially enjoyed watching the classroom demonstrations. However, there wasn't one with The Teaching Large Classes section which I would have liked. I was apprehensive at first as I am 62, but still managed to pass, proving you're never to old to learn! I look forward to putting my new knowledge to good use before too long. Thank you TEFL.”

“I liked the course, although I would upgrade some things in the telephone lesson course. Several new platforms can be used and would be a big help for teachers. Also, the big class course would need more practical materials.”

“I am pleased to have achieved the 120hr course. I started with energy and enthusiasm. I then found the course to be video overload. Particularly the lessons, perhaps this is because I am a trained primary teacher. The assessments were reviewed quickly and tutor contact and response was almost immediate. Some of the quizzes were very basic. I did feel like the course was very drawn out but I did it. Thank you and sorry to not be positive.”

Hi Claire, Thank you for your review. We are sorry that your experience at TEFL Org didn’t match your expectations. Normally we receive excellent reviews from new and experienced teachers, so I will certainly pass along your feedback to our team who will always aim to improve our courses further. For our quizzes, these are there as an aid to refresh what was learned in each module, so these are not assessed in the same way as the assignments. The tutors do have to mark and provide feedback within 48-hours as well, and these markings also have to meet high accreditation standards, so you can be sure these were assessed correctly. “I was deeply disappointed by the quality of information given. Some of the course material was somewhat useful but it was accompanied by a deluge of unhelpful dross. Most frustrating was the realisation that despite having paid a good deal of money for the course they try to grift you for more money at every turn. Having taken the course, I do not feel better prepared to teach at all.”

Hi Daniel, Thank you for posting a review and we’re sorry to hear that your experience was not of the quality you expected. Normally we receive excellent reviews for our courses, so I will certainly pass on your feedback. Our Level 5 courses are regulated by Ofqual, so you can be sure they are of a high standard. The tutors have to ensure these standards are met with every assignment marked. I am unsure what you mean by us taking more money however. Once a student enrolls on a course with us there is no further payments required. The full details of the courses and their time frames are clearly advertised on our website. “This online course is ideal for distance learning. I was able to fit my studies around other responsibilities and still complete it well within the allotted time. There is support on hand if you need extra help and feedback is provided for all assignments. If you are are self-motivated and organised this is a brilliant way to gain a qualification that can open the door to new opportunities.”
