“An ideal apartment in Salcombe, very well eqipped, plenty of hot water, heating if required and parking, a bonus in a place like Salcombe.
2 small grumbles, the settees are not comfortable and the door onto the balcony was stuck ( this was dealt with promptly when reported but I was amazed to deal with a pleasant young man in Kosovo on the phone !)”
“The cottage was in a very convenient location for using public transport and for Pannett Park, which is lovely at any time of year, and particularly appealed to my granddaughter, who loved all the apparatus in the children's playpark.
The cottage was well appointed and there was suitable heating available. The shower was excellent.
My only small criticism was that I couldn't work out how to get tv channels as programmes were happening, but had to do 'catch up' on iplayer etc.
We all had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday, and I would be very happy to stay at Abbey View in the future.”
“I already sent one review. Good location, clean tidy, good showers. Needs somewhere to hang coats, table in kitchen and a couple of chairs and a place outside to hang wetsuits.”
“4 Plas Newydd was an excellent choice for a short break in Llandudno. Communication and instructions from Sykes were excellent. I would have no hesitation in using Sykes again.”
“Excellant, excellant. Second time here and the cottage does not disappoint. welcomed with Bread/Milk/Biscuits/Cake/Jam/Tea/Coffee which was a lovely thought. Place was beautifully clean A* and very well presented.”
“Stayed at Stone Wheel cottage in Hook Norton. Wonderful location but a tired property that was disappointing and not up to Sykes ratings. Booking process was fine but late takeover time of 1700 was later than advertised and too late for us given a 1000 departure.”
“Good website allows searches in specific areas. Property amenities are clearly listed.
Descriptions could be simpler with kess flowery language. It’s totally unnecessary.
Your phone system used to be easier. Now it’s a nightmare.”
“A really spacious apartment for two which is well equipped for short breaks. Probably the TV is too small for the size of the room and the furniture doesn't lend itself to being moved which would of course overcome that problem. However, these are quibbles really. I enjoyed a fantastic 4 night stay there.”
“This was a lovely spacious house on a high street with shops cafes and a fish & chip shop close by. When we arrived the bin outside was full I rang up to let them know we were told to leave our bin bags by the bin and the owner would collect them every day, this never happened we had about 6 bin bags around the bin. No facilities to recycle. On arrival the house was clean. The kitchen has a few problems half of the pans can’t be used on the induction hob. A comment to this effect was made in aug 24 and nothing has been rectified and there are a few other missing items needed in the kitchen. some of mattresses need replacing they are too hard. I would have liked a bath mat in the upstairs bath/shower I nearly slipped a few times. The garden had very comfortable furniture and a gas barbecue with no gas. We had to get the cushions out of the shed and there was a horrific blood stained mattress in there that’s needs to be disposed of.
Overall we had a nice week with lovely weather. If Sykes could iron out the problems at this house it would be much improved.”
“Absolutely perfect big holiday home right on the sea. Second stay and hope to be back next year. Very clean big box of goodies left for us nice touch just perfect place”
“We have recently returned from a week's stay at The Tractor Shed, in Kinnerley, Shropshire. It's location is very peaceful and the accommodation truely lovely-exactly as described and it definitely deserves it's gold star award from Sykes. The bathroom is amazing, better than in many "up-market" hotels we've stayed at, home and abroad. The Tractor Shed provided everything we needed for a very enjoyable and relaxing stay; long needed after many busy months at home. The weather was kind to us, not warm, but dry, so we were able to spend some time in the lovely outside sitting area. Wilson, our miniature schnauzer liked being out there with us. However, he absolutely loved just sitting and looking out of the full length window upstairs; a novelty for him. The views are far reaching and the only activity is the occasional vehicle passing or maybe a horse rider.
The delicious home made Victoria Sponge provided for our arrival was very welcome indeed after a long and, at times, very wet journey from Devon. Everything at The Tractor Shed is of high quality, clearly every attention to detail has been made and the numerous finishing touches are really lovely.
There's an easy walk (approx 30 minute) to
the Cross Keys pub in Kinnerley, where the staff are very friendly. We walked there on our first day, had a drink in the large garden
and booked a table for dinner on our last evening. The food was excellent (though not ordinary pub-grub) as was the service; I'd thoroughly recommend the salmon.”
