“The Stable at Mareham le Fen was absolutely wonderful .so peaceful and quiet .loads of wildlife to see .the owner was very friendly and helpful .if we needed anything we just had to ask .a lovely warm cottage. With everything you need .will definitely be going there again.”
“Beautiful cottage in the heart of Robin Hoods Bay!
The cottage had everything we needed and was immaculately clean: well-equipped kitchen, cosy lounge and lovely bedroom with a beautiful view over the rooftops and out to sea ❤️
Electric storage heating was great: we went in May and did need to use it a little as some days were still quite chilly, but the heaters kick in really quickly and warm the rooms nicely.
Superb location: drive down to the bay to unload then a parking pass provided for the car parks at the top of the bay for the rest of our stay. Great cottage to nip out to enjoy walks on the beach, along the coastal paths or enjoying the many wonderful bars and restaurants in the Bay: just perfect!”
“Absolutely inadequate accommodation. Not catered for. Total fire hazard. Very surprised this is advertised on a site we have used for years. Very poor accommodation and would not recommend to anyone.”
“We enjoyed our stay in this lovely clean, well equipped cottage which had a beautiful garden. Friendly owners who left a few treats which was a nice touch. Great location. Would definitely stay again if we return to the area.”
“Sykes have a large number of properties in Carbis Bay, an area of Cornwall I love to visit. The properties are well maintained and desirable, and the booking system is very straightforward”
“The apartment is very central to all amenities and well equipped. It was very comfortable.
I went out of season and I did wonder if parking the car could be tricky in peak season.
The light in the entrance hall wasn't working and returning in the dark felt a bit creepy because it's an old building and the entrance is at the side of the building into an entry and then a stone staircase.
I did like it though and have already rebooked”
“We had an excellent short break.
Lovely views of the sea.
Excellent local customer service.
Comfy beds.
Kitchen could have benefitted from additional pots, pans, crockery and cutlery.”
“Our four-night stay at The Hollow in Holywell was absolutely spectacular. Such a unique place — like a little box of curiosity — with something interesting everywhere you looked. All the artwork, decorations, and details around the property kept our minds busy and made the whole stay feel really special and different from anywhere else we’ve stayed.
The sauna was brilliant and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The welcome pack was also a lovely touch, with wine, cakes, and other treats waiting for us when we arrived, which made us feel instantly welcome.
We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend The Hollow to anyone looking for somewhere unique and relaxing. Thank you for such an enjoyable stay!”
“Absolutely stunning. Apartment was just as advertised. Views are absolutely gorgeous. Clean and well equipped. Plenty of blankets to sit on the balcony. Dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer made the stay so easy and gave us more time for relaxing. We had a wonderful time and would recommend to anyone. We will be rebooking. Thanks for a great holiday”
“Ive used Sykes for a lot of stays and never had issues with the company and shall continue to use them.
They're booking system is very good the price you see for the dates you book is what you get,no add on later down the booking line e.g. heating, dog, linen, booking charge”
“Sykes are good when booking a holiday but not so good at being available to sort out any subsequent problems. The problem is you cant get hold of anyone. I have sat on hold on three occasions for more than 30 minutes with no one answering. I managed to get through by ringing as if I was booking a new holiday (the phone was answered straight away, oh what a surprise), i then apologised for selecting the wrong extension and asked to be transferred which they did, even then I had to wait 10 minutes. My issues did get sorted in the end it but it was the fact you couldn't get hold of anyone. Dissapointing to say the least”
“Amazing spot for a relaxing stay.
The cottage itself is well equipped, comfortable beds and spacious lounge for everyone to enjoy the views - muntjacs, rabbits and Happisburgh Lighthouse.
The beach is only a short stroll and you can enjoy lovely food in a cafe nearby.
We hope to return next year”
“We love this farm house and this was our second visit as a family of 12 (11 adults and a five year old). Great grandparents, grandparents and parents. We all love the location as you can have day trips to LLangollen, Welsh Pool, Bala etc but we loved staying in and playing games or using the hot tub which was a great hit with us all.
The hosts left a lovely welcome package too, yogurts, milk, butter, jam, welsh bread, welsh cakes, fresh eggs, bread etc really wonderful. We will definitely be going back and will probably make this a regular family get together.”
“Absolutely AMAZING stay at Hawthorn Lodge for my Husbands 40th. Perfect for a family of 4 with a pooch. Well equipped and had everything you needed to start the day, and to finish off the day (hot tub). Beautifully decorated to a high spec. Great location, perfect for what we wanted and just a few minutes drive over to the famous Whitby Abbey and 199 steps. Would highly recommend staying here and would definitely visit again.”
“Just a few minor issues inside, flickering bulbs in breakfast room after dark and been on for a few hrs,
no bulb for shaving in the main on-suite. Cold water taps are very fearsome. House was in a perfect location. Windows need cleaning . Enjoyed our stay.”
“This was a lovely, homely cottage in stunning surrondings. The multiple outdoor seating gave you many options for sitting peacefully absorbing the sights and sounds around you.
The roads are good and access to Oswestry for shops etc really easy. A great location for exploring the welsh borders.”
