“The accommodation was very clean, location is excellent for visiting local attractions, train station just down the road making it very easy to pop into Nottingham for a day out without using car.
Owners friendly and leave you to yourselves, which suits us.
Bed was very comfy, slept very well.
Hot Tub large, always hot, bit of a faff to open up, but worth it to relax after busy days out.
There are a few small negatives which has prompted me to leave 4 stars, as I felt this did have an impact on our break.
Firstly, the fridge is very small which limitsthe options of what you can store in there, there is a tiny (and I mean tiny) freezer section, which had half a bag of ice in, the rest was frozen up so we were unable to use to make our own fresh ice.
The WiFi is intermittent ( we found this the case in the area in general with Mobile Data patchy when out and about), however, considering the TV is internet powered, we did suffer a little with programs dropping out or freezing which was frustrating.
The shower is not powerful, more of a trickle, and temperature control is guesswork, but it did do the job.
All in we enjoyed our stay, just the few minor niggles which I feel are quite simple to resolve.”
“A very comfortable cottage - one of a pair of old almshouses - in the tranquil and beautiful village of Forthampton just across the Severn from Tewkesbury. The cottage is well-equipped and managed by an accessible owner who is keen to ensure that her guests have all that they need and enjoy their stay. The area - between the Cotswolds and the Malverns (both of which are visible from the garden) - is a varied and lovely part of the country. Hereford and the Welsh border are not far away while Worcester and Gloucester are closer still. In April the sun shone while bluebells and the blossom on the fruit trees brought the fields and villages to colourful life. Three miles up the road is Longdon Marsh, where Elgar came with bicycle and notebook, to write some of his most beautiful music. The market town of Tewkesbury reeks of John Moore's evocative books which were based here and in the surrounding villages. An enchanted place.”
“Proximity to the beach was excellent. A good value dog holiday, in a clean, warm chalet with a functional kitchen. Do not expect any facilities on site.
Unfortunately, another resident on site, thought it was appropriate behaviour to exercise and train his labrador with a lure, directly in front of our chalet at 5.15am every morning, which woke our dog, who correctly barked to alert us. There is a huge field, which he could have used at the outer edge away from other chalets.
Although we like a firm mattress, the king size bed was extremely HARD, as mentioned by previous customers, causing lack of sleep and aching bodies. (Double bed room not used) The futon style settee was also very uncomfortable. The electric shower was quite weak but adequate. With the purchase of an affordable mattress topper and upgrade on the settee, we would consider returning with these changes.

“Lovely location and an amazing host, Dawn. She knew it was our anniversary and did a beautiful welcome pack with đ„đŸ bubbles and balloons đ. The lodge was very cosy and well equipped. The wildlife was wonderful to watch from the hot tub or sitting on the veranda with a coffee. Will definitely return. Our dog Hudson says thanks to Dawn for his cookies đ đȘ”
“We had a problem with a booking. We did not receieve a E Mail to confirm a booking and it turned into a bit of a nightmare to try and resolve it. We were eventually told that we had made the booking as a guest despite following all our previous booking arrangements.”
“What a wonderful place to stay. Such a perfect spot for us to stay- easy access via the lift, a fabulous picture window with dramatic sea views and sunsets, everything to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The apartment is in easy walking distance to the beach, the harbour ,the station and the town making the flat a perfect spot for all ages and abilities. We booked for April expecting a mixed bag of weather and luckily had beautiful sunshine each day- what a bonus! We hope to visit again!”
“Love staying at the woodpecker pod near ribblehead viaduct, it was our second time here, nice and peaceful, plenty of walking around the area especially the three peaks. The hot tub was needed afterwards, it was heavenly. Close enough to the station pub, lovely Sunday roast would recommend. We will be back.”
“Very nice clean and tidy Apartment. Only issue was access into building as given wrong information where key safe was and lock on entrance door very worn otherwise had a enjoyable stay.”
“Weve stayed here many times, and love it here, and will no doubt be back again sooner rather than later. The lodge is immaculate and has everything you need, including fabulous neighbours!
The only thing which needs attention is the hot tub. It has deteriorated each time weve stayed, now with only one jet producing effective bubbles, the handle comes away as you climb in, and it didnât feel as clean as usual.”
“This was a real home from home. Everything was included in the kitchen, including washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, oven, hob, utensils, crockery, cutlery, spices and sauces.
Loads of books, DVDs and puzzles for stay-in days.
Our hosts Christine and Brian were absolutely fabulous, very friendly and accommodating.
The cottage was in a very tranquil place and not too far away from the local pub/restaurant and village.
We'd love to stay here again if we were to come to this area again.”
“Nice clean modern house with everything we needed for a lovely stay on Anglesey with 2 dogs. Very handy for Benllech beach which is great for the dogs We were here in April but do just check for any beach restrictions relating to dogs
Even going to beaches on the west side only takes around 30 min by car to Newborough or Rosneiger
The house garden is nice for sitting out on a sunny evening and is safe for the dogs, being fully enclosed.
Plenty of of pubs and takeaways nearby if you donât want to cook and many pubs are dog friendly.
We had a lovely April break here and would return.”
“I had a lovely stay at the cottage. It was easy to find, and collecting the keys from the key safe was simple and convenient. The location is absolutely perfect if youâre looking for a peaceful break in a remote setting. There was plenty of parking, and being able to park right next to the cottage made loading and unloading really easy.
The views from the cottage are stunning, and at night you can clearly see the stars, itâs incredibly quiet and peaceful. Thereâs lots of local wildlife around too, which made the stay even more special. The area is full of beautiful walking routes, and I really enjoyed exploring the surroundings. The cottage is also dogâfriendly, which was a big bonus for us. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
My score would have been a 5, but the oven was very dirty. I usually cook pizza directly on the shelf, but I couldnât do that because it was completely black. Otherwise the cottage was very clean. As expected, the kitchen equipment wasnât brilliant either. The cottage has a private water supply, and the water was brown. We purchased bottled water before arrival because we have stayed in cottages with a private water supply before and prefer the bottle water because of the taste and the colour can be off putting.
Just a note for future guests: the nearest shop is about a 20âminute drive and is a little pricey with a limited seletlction, and the closest supermarket and petrol station are around 50 minutes away. Make sure you arrive with everything you need or be prepared for a bit of a drive.”
“Clean and cosy cottage providing everything you need for a short break. Off road parking and enclosed garden for your dog.
Quiet area with easy access to Chippenham and castle Combe., which is so pretty.”
“Very nice cottage well presented and with a lovely waterfall right out side the cottage, can't wait to go back again would like to thank Kate for the stay at her lovely home”
“A fantastic holiday, in a brilliant cottage set in lovely countryside. Ty Den is beautifully maintained and has everything we needed for a superb holiday. Ty Den is on the Pilgrims way meaning you can walk straight from the front door. We walked over to Llanberis, the Dinorwig Quarries and up to the Marchlyn Mawr reservoir straight from the front door. It is also easy and quick to reach the coast and other parts of the Llyn Peninsula by car. The view up the valley from the picnic table is second to none. We had a week of brilliant weather and got used to the view of Snowdon summit and the Crib Goch ridge whilst sitting outside. We should also mention and thank the really helpful owner, Vernon, who gave excellent advice on where to go, and routes to take. Overall a brilliant holiday in a really lovely cottage.”
“Warm and well equipped. Excellent information booklet . Sofas not comfortable and the garden furniture also was uncomfortable. Good position for all amenities”
