“Lovely October weekend at Brook Cottage. Would highly recommend to friends and family for any time of the year.
We did manage to get out to the local area and for a local lane/footpath walk.
Great place to catch up with friends. Well equipped, cosy and warm.”
“Fantastic chapel conversion. Everything you could possibly need, a real home away from home. Welcome gifts, spare dog bowls and a fab kitchen. Ideally located for the beach and great coastal walks.”
“High standards in peaceful surroundings.
We have been visiting Southern Halt for several years now - almost since it first opened and no matter which lodge we stay in, the quality and cleanliness is consistent throughout. We always feel relaxed and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Although it is not in a “tourist spot” it is ideally located to go anywhere in Cornwall and even Dartmoor is not that far away! Our recent stay at 10 Horizon View lived up to our expectations and, as I have said, all the lodges are excellent.
Date of stay:
October 2025”
“What a beautiful and clean cottage with everything you need it was like home from home. We have stay in some grotty cottages in our time in North Wales, this cottage was first class could not fault it in any way Bill and Bev should be very proud of their cottage.”
“The cottage we rented had inaccurate parking information & instructions. No real interaction with Sykes as it’s all faceless & automatic with the emails coming out for payments etc. no character unlike the property we rented.”
“We had a lovely stay at Middle Cottage, Newport, Pembrokeshire. The cottage was like a home away from home - spotlessly clean, comfortable and fully equipped with everything you may need. Mel and Richard, the owners, welcomed us on arrival and explained heating controls etc. The visitors’ folder lists recommended walks, restaurants, gardens etc, so plenty of useful information. A relaxing week was spent using the house as a base and the good weather was a bonus.”
“On arrival at the Old Farm Cottage on 5th October on entering the cottage was met with loads of blue bottle flies and a terrible fousty smell which was overpowering tried to get rid of the flies as the were landing on the kitchen worktops or anything you put down Early evening tried to watch the telly 3 controllers tried the instructions even txt the owner no reply so after 2hours gave up My husband does not sleep very well so he slept in the single bed the bedding was damp and smelt fousty the bedside light was full of cobwebs with dead flies I really cant describe the smell it was awfull so in the morning we left the cottage by 9 oclock as couldnt stand it any longer we then had to find a bed and breakfast in barnstaple that took a small dog for the Monday and Tuesday night before we went on to another cottage on the Wednesday that we had booked for the rest of our holiday which was a lovely place. Very very dissapointed with the first cottage which wasnt cheap then had to pay extra for more accomadation due to the state of this cottage. Not happy at all”
“Stayed here 3 or 4 times we love it.
So peaceful and amazing for our family and our dogs.
Amazing pub in the village of Dufton 2 min drive or 20 minutes walk.”
“This is our first stay here, me & my partner stayed in Curlew Corner. We absolutely loved it! it was so peaceful and we proper chilled out. Waking up to seeing the alpacas & the goats were a highlight to us! The pod had everything we needed. Thank you for the cupcakes to arrive to, they were delicious!😍 we will definitely be back! Thanks again Ray & Diane”
