“Our latest stay in a Sykes cottage was good but not as good as other cottages from Sykes we have used.
The house was not really big enough for 6 and the kitchen was not equipped properly- it had the bare minimum. No side plates and fre dinner plates, not enough cups and things were broken like the toilet seat and the shelf in the bathroom. It was okay but not brilliant”
“We hired the cottage called the "Old Sweet Shop" for 7 days late Mar early Apr 26.
Our stay at this property was fabulous, the accommodation was very modern with so many great features it was very welcoming and comfortable and is in perfect location to enjoy lovely friendly,quaint, picturesque Conwy (and beyond).
The owners, Darren and Sunita have gone the 'extra mile' with this and have clearly put much thought into making this a great stay.
The ' welcome pack's was very generous and special thanks for our Granddaughter's musical gift, which she loved.
We shall definitely recommend The Old Sweet shop to friends and family.

“Absolutely perfect location for accessing Eryri, so many amazing walks nearby. The cottage is in a quiet location and you can see beautiful sunsets from the conservatory. It is very clean and comfortable, love the wood burner. It is well equipped and had everything we needed for our week stay. Paul was very friendly and helpful.”
“Had we known that it was part of a holiday home complex, we wouldn't have booked it. The neighbours either side were really noisy as the walls were paper thin. On one side was a screaming child for the first few days- thankfully the family moved out so we thought we'd have some peace. Unfortunately, within a couple of days another family moved in (possibly the owners?) and they decided to have a party on the night before we left so more screaming children and shouting adults. On the other side, the people who, I think, lived there had really loud talking voices & their dog(s) just barked most of the time.
Notwithstanding all that, the cottage was well equipped & clean (apart from the dust/fluff in both shower extractor fans). The towels were fluffy & the beds quite comfortable. I think a bit of TLC was needed as the security light at the front & back of the house didn't work; the outside light at the back of the house didn't work; the handle on the boiler cupboard in the kitchen came off in my hand; the dining room chairs didn't match; the batteries in the clock in the dining area had gone; both the front & back doors had massive gaps in or around them which meant the draught from them was really bad (maybe curtains could be put up?). It just wasn't for us & we wouldn't hurry back.”

“Excellent house, lots of space, very clean everywhere. We had an issue with the fire alarm going off which was quickly resolved. The code for this would be helpful in the handbook which was really informative about everything else. Very close to the seafront which was great. Found all the local food places to be very good. Would definitely recommend for families or large groups. The hot tub took a while to clear after use not sure if there was an issue with the filters that requires attention.”
