“I've booked through Sykes Cottages a few times now and have been delighted with each accommodation, the cost and the emails keeping us updated on arrival and information for our stay before hand.”
“Harefield is a beautiful house in a great location. The house is spotlessly clean and very comfortable with a secure enclosed back garden. We were visited by 2 deers in the field behind the garden. Lynda, the owner, rang on our first evening to check we had settled in ok and if we had any questions etc. We found the neighbours friendly and full of local information.
Rothbury is approx 10 mins walk or park in the free car park and walk over the bridge into town. Rothbury offers pubs, cafes and an Italian restaurant (dog friendly). Nice walks by the river. Rothbury Golf course 5mins drive. Cragside (National Trust) only a few minutes away by car is well worth a visit.
20mins to Alnwick, about 40 mins to the coast.
We will definitely be booking again for our next visit to Rothbury.”
“We had a perfect week at Sunnyside Lodge. The lodge is so well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The boys loved the fishing and the hot tub was amazing. Lovely big deck with views over the water. We will definitely be back!”
“Brew cottage is a gorgeous little cottage. Careful if you're tall, the ceilings are low.
It has that warm cosy feeling that makes you feel relaxed.
It is a little tight in the master bedroom because of the sloping ceiling, but the beds are comfy and you can get a nice restful sleep.
Outside, the gated garden feels small, but as it wraps around the cottage there is plenty of space, even for 2 dogs. Caution, if you bring dogs. The 2 gates at either end of the garden are low, so if your dog is a jumper, you will need to watch them.
Overall this was a great holiday cottage, peaceful and relaxing, and only a short drive from the north Kent coast.
We will be returning.”
“The lodge we stayed in was well maintained, very clean and well equipped. The hot tub was an added bonus and we made full use of it. We had a lovely stay despite mixed weather.”
“good location with easy access to Alnwick town centre and all the amenities. Well equipped home. Would be a bit tricky for wheelchair users or those who struggle with steps. Lack of off street parking is the only downside really.”
“Lovely accommodation. Beautifully appointed, clean and very convenient for the town. Note that the stairs up to the bathroom and kitchen are quite steep so a certain fitness level is required but we look forward to staying there again..”
“Rose Cottage was just what we wanted for a family get together. Well equiped (although the excellent chip shop over the road and local pubs such as the Ferry meant that cooking was limited to toast) Lovely bathrooms, decent heating, nice beds - boom. Parking next door was easy. Would definately come again, and booking process with Sykes was bang on.”
“Perfect family accommodation, spacious, cosy, close to town, very well equipped, really couldn’t fault.
We were a family of 6 plus a dog and toddler. So much room that we didn’t feel on top of one another, and had quiet space to escape if necessary.
Never seen such a well equipped kitchen, there was nothing that hadn’t been catered for.
Blessed with good weather & the youngsters in our group enjoyed several Wainwright fells. Great shops, pubs and lovely park close to entertain a little one.
If we return to Keswick, will definitely book this house again.”
“Really enjoyed our 4 night break at The Coachouse Inn. Would highly recommend. The bar, darts and pool table kept the teens happy and the bar was so cosy with the fire.”
“Our last stay was only for three nights.when we first saw the outside we were disappointed but the inside was really nice smaller than we are used to but spotlessly clean with all the accessories that we needed. The garden was fully enclosed and my two dogs loved it. The view was beautiful and there was plenty of interesting places nearby to visit.”
“We had a fantastic stay at The Pump House and would highly recommend it. The property was absolutely immaculate—spotlessly clean and clearly very well cared for. The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped with everything we needed, making it easy to settle in and feel at home.
One of the standout touches was the host’s attention to detail, particularly with the hot tub, which was regularly checked and maintained throughout our stay to ensure it was always clean and ready to use.
The house itself is full of character and offers a great amount of space, both inside and out. The garden area was a huge bonus.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend it to others.”
“Another Beautiful Easter
Our 2nd visit to 62 Pinewood, and it was just as lovely as the first time. Stuart is a great host, and the property speaks for itself. It had everything you need to cook if necessary, and all appliances were easy to use, and efficient. Towels, bedding, fresh milk, tea bags, sugar. Beautifully located in a quieter part of The Grange, with the French doors opening up to a peaceful lake setting. We had a wonderful weeks stay with our two children, and our young cockapoo. Thank you, and we’ll see you next year ❤️”
“We have booked with Sykes for many years now but this time when you needed their help they let us down. Very poor response to an issue we had this time.”
“I like using the search - with selected criteria to avoid wasting time scrolling unsuitable homes. I think the company are very good- homes match description or exceed expectations.
The must recent holiday home we have used 3 times. Excellent.”
