“Superb house with amazing sea views, we were a party of nine with a variety of ages from 7 to 78 all of us enjoyed it. The weather wasn’t great while we were there but we had great fun using the table football.
Everything was thought about, and the welcome pack was a wonderful touch.
We couldn’t fault anything and have made some amazing memories.
We would recommend the castle chippy, the food was beautiful and so fresh, we also popped into the ice cream parlour opposite which we would recommend.
All in all a fantastic few days away, and I hope we will be able to return in the future.”
“We had a great stay at Wellington Cottage, found the accommodation spacious and comfortable for our family of 4. Kitchen was well-equipped to prepare meals and kids enjoyed having TVs in many rooms. Enjoyed day trips to Ely and Wicken Fen close by as well as exploring around Littleport. Host was easy to contact and quick to help!”
“I am absolutely disgusted that I rang to make enquiries about booking and using a voucher and a cottage was booked by Sykes staff without my consent or confirmation. I tried to cancel it, bearing in mind I had not confirmed it and was met by extremely unhelpful staff who did not give a damn. I had already booked somewhere else but still had to pay £500 for this booking. I fully intend to take this further as I understand all calls are recorded. It will be evident from the call that I did not confirm a booking”
“This is the second time weve stayed at the Granary, and it was just as good as the first time! Beds are very comfy and it feels like a home from home. Ideally located at the edge of a village which has everything youd need, a morrisons local and a great chinese takeaway, it was a great base to visit Diggerland, Seaham for the seaglass hunting and Durham itself for a lovely afternoon out.We are already thinking about booking again for a week next year!”
“The property was stunning, in beautiful surroundings & had everything you could need. Plenty close by to do. It was well maintained & clean. Would definitely recommend & if in the area again would stay again!”
“White Swan Cottage is well positioned within the Main Street of Youlgreave for local amenities and good and varied dog walking routes. This is my second visit to the cottage and the welcome basket of wine and crisps was kind.
The property is showing its age a little. The shower is either scalding hot or freezing cold with little adjustment available. The downstairs cloakroom was very chilly and doesn’t have a separate light from the hallway. The door to the back yard sticks badly and was hard to secure. It is worth pointing out that with two dogs, the rear garden is only safely accessible by placing them on leads (a fact which is pointed out in the helpful brochure).
That being said, the cleanliness was extremely good with beautiful bedding, no cobwebs to be seen and very comfy furniture.
Once a few tweaks are made, White Swan Cottage will again be an ideal holiday abode.”
“We absolutely loved our stay at Beech Lodge. Angela is such a kind and welcoming host. Thank you so much for making our stay a perfect one. All rooms are ground floor. That means suitable for disabled. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped. It is near the wedding venue of Horetown House. We would definitely love to come back.”
“Stunning location and setting. Very quiet and peaceful with full use of gardens and the enclosed Walled Garden. Close to Cartmel village and all amenities.
Comfortable and very clean.
Would definitely visit again.”
“Very much enjoyed our stay 10 Adults 1 dog, beautiful clean house , very comfortable, the only issue was just the 2 bathrooms and the downstairs bathroom door needs attention as it doesn’t close!”
“We booked fairly last minute as an easter getaway with our newborn to the snooty fox and we were impressed with the modernness of the accommodation, the hot tub was lush! On site bar was on par with town prices. Good location for commuting to Filey, Scarborough, pickering, Dalby forest to name a few. The site was secure and not heaving which was nice. Limited cooking facilities consisting of a toaster, kettle, microwave and air fryer and fridge space is restricted but it didn't spoil our breakaway. Ive recommended the site to family and friends and I know we will be back”
“Had a lovely weeked brake at this holiday cottage in a small quiet village but very central to visit Worctershire Hereford and Shropshire .the place was very clean and cosy and very reasonably priced good value for what we paid”
“The apartment is in a very good location and newly renovated, the kitchen is fully equipped and appliances were in working order - the hot water was not. There are quite a lot of teething issues, which meant it wasn’t a seamless stay. On arrival there were no keys in the lock boxes, and the codes supplied to/by Sykes were incorrect, on two boxes. The handyman had been informed that guests were arriving from the next day. The contact number supplied to Sykes is the cleaner and not the owner, and they seemed unaware they were the contact! They had to give us the owners number to try and gain access!!! The hot water taps in the kitchen and bathroom ran at literally a dribble - this does require urgent attention. The apartment wasn’t clean. The floors were dusty and bits all over from the renovation work. There is no ironing board/iron and the hair dryers in both bedrooms are an EU not UK plug!!! A mirror/dressing table would also be useful in the second bedroom. It would have been handy to have a sweeping broom or hoover to help to keep the floors clean, especially having dogs and kids in the apartment, I swept the lounge and hall with a dust pan and brush - which hurt my back so we weren’t dragging bits into bed off our feet!!! And it would also be a good addition to have coat hooks/shoe rack/storage in the hall, rather than everything having to be dumped on the dirty floor. The lamps in the lounge are rechargeable only and were dead on arrival, and the ceiling spots are mega bright. Fortunately we had appropriate chargers, but there are none supplied in the apartment, so the lounge lighting needs more thought, as does the curtain pole which feels like it’s about to snap in half. Would recommend some scatter cushions for the sofa too, as it isn’t that comfortable, we used pillows off the beds! A welcome booklet would be useful with the codes and WIFI, local recommendations etc. We managed in the apartment, but there was a lot of making do!!!”
