“Love George cottage, it’s one of our favourites, it’s home from home, very clean, warm and welcoming. Short walk into Clun with great cafe and pubs, highly recommend the Postcard cafe and White Horse Inn.

“This is a beautifully renovated cottage and we loved staying here. Everything was sparkling clean and of high quality. There were 2 parking places right by the front door and a small safely enclosed front garden - unfortunately in February the weather was not good enough to use it.
The beds were comfortable and warm and the heating in a chilly and wet February was excellent.
2 small points that do not detract from a 5* rating would be 1) hanging the bathroom door the other way so that it opens into the bathroom rather than into the corridor where it clashed with the smaller bedroom door. 2) It was difficult to shower in the upstairs bathroom without splashing the floor around the bath - maybe a water proof mat under the bath would help?
All in all a lovely home from home and close to Lyme Regis and only half an hour from Bridport. We ate at the Rock Fish Restaurant in Lyme Regis, perched up high above the lifeboat station (parking a little further up the hill in a large car park) where the fish is beautifully fresh and there is a view from every single table!”

“Chestnuts Barn
We booked Chestnuts barn for 9 nights from Friday to a week Sunday in February.
Entrance is between 2 tall brick pillars just before the last house on the left of the one-way Church Street as it meets the junction with Mellor’s Lane (the location on maps is currently shown incorrectly as south of Lower Hall Close). Allocated parking for the barn is alongside the steps leading to the first floor window, requiring you to reverse in & manoeuvre into place from the street, hence the reason for the “only suitable for small & medium cars” explanation in the write up. Exiting the area is also tricky even with the high mirror placed for you to look back along Church Street. Parking can be found on the surrounding streets or the “Spotted Cow” pub car park. That’s the only issue we found with the property.
Entrance is via the furthest door along the building leading onto a small hallway, the 2 bedrooms, a toilet room and the stairs to the living area.
There is a large living area with central coffee table full of games which were an instant hit with our two granddaughters, lots of films to watch, 2 sofas and an easy chair. There is plenty of light from the windows & lighting, WiFi is via the EE router. TV is Freeview, we used a tv stick for online catchup & streaming.
Directly opposite the top of the stairs is the shower room, toilet & sink, all works well & suitably supplied consumables.
To the left of the stairs is the large, well equipped kitchen with all the appliances shown in the photos. A nice welcome pack was left for our arrival.
Everything is well supplied & comfortable, we’d be happy to stay again
There are plenty of walks in the local and greater area & information on these is supplied in the accommodation, it’s on the local bus routes to Derby & Belper. I recommend the “camra” “Dead Poets Inn” for great beers.”
“We’ve stayed at this lovely cottage in Hinderwell several times now and it never disappoints. It’s a fantastic dog-friendly place to stay, with plenty of great walks right from the doorstep, making it perfect if you’re bringing your four-legged companion along.
The cottage is always spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The bed is particularly comfortable, which makes it easy to relax and get a great night’s sleep after a day out exploring the coast and countryside. The kitchen is very well stocked with appliances and utensils, so cooking meals is easy if you decide to stay in.
The location is ideal. Hinderwell village is lovely, and having two pubs nearby is a real bonus. There’s also a chip shop just a short walk away, which is perfect for an easy dinner after a long walk. A shop about a mile away covers anything else you might need.
It’s also great for families. Upstairs there are two single beds and a separate TV lounge, which works brilliantly for teenagers who want their own space to relax in the evenings.
This has become a regular getaway spot for us and we keep coming back for a break, which says it all. We’ll definitely continue to return and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-located cottage on the coast. 🐾”

This was our fourth visit to Fishermans Cottage (Malltraeth) so we must like it!!!
There were a couple of minor problems (I think due to a combination of the property not having been used for a few weeks & a change of maintenance company). We wern't even going to mention them but we got a courtesy call from Jasmine at Sykes who took them on board & she resolved them promptley.
The maintenance company couldn't have been more helpful & were unobtrusive.
