We were blown away by this place. It's huge, there were 16 of us and a few dogs and we were very comfortable. There's a playground in the garden better than most you'll find in public parks. The place was very clean, everything worked, we couldn't have asked for a better weekend.

Acorns holiday cottage is a lovely, spacious, clean and well-furnished accommodation situated in a beautiful, quiet area. We were really made to feel at home and would love staying there another time.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ivy Cottage. Directions would benefit from What 3 words location. Property over 3 floors with toasty underfloor heating. Would definitely stay again, great views from the kitchen!

We stayed here weekend of 17th April. Directions were spot on and we found the house easily. The house is beautifully decorated, with a very comfy sofa and huge tv and sky tv (which my husband thought was amazing). The bathrooms were a good size and the shower room was handy as the bath was quite high for my mother to climb into. The hot tub was great, nice and hot plus plenty of towels to use. The owners left a lovely basket of goodies and a bottle of fizz which was greatly appreciated. The kitchen had everything you needed and a lovely dining area in the conservatory. The house was located in a quiet area and only a short walk to the train station and further into town. A great place to use as a Base to explore Northumberland or Scotland. We loved this place and would definitely stay again.

This was our 2nd stay here and just as good 2nd time around. Lovely cottage with huge kitchen/dining space complete with everything you could want. Lovely lounge on the first floor overlooking the countryside complete with Snuggles and Humphrey, the 2 friendly donkeys. We loved our evenings in the hot tub with the complementary bottle of Prosecco. Beautiful place and beautiful area.

I made a booking. I wanted to discuss arrival time - as it was the weekend there was only a chatbot which failed to answer my question. There was no telephone number for the owner or assistant on arrival. Even on departure I had no ability to contact.

This is a lovely cottage ideally suited to two friends sharing in our case, but would equally suit a small family. The parking is plentiful and it is a very pretty cottage. Inside it is tastefully furnished, clean, tidy and comfortable. The owners are friendly and very helpful. Painswick is beautiful with nice restaurants and pubs nearby. The scenery is stunning and there is plenty to do in the area. The only thing other that would have been useful in the kitchen was a casserole dish.

Beck Steps is in the beautiful village of Chapel Stile, which is ideally situated for an abundance of walks straight from the door. The cottage is warm, cozy and well equipped. The newly refurbished bathroom is wonderful. We just felt there could be a bit more attention to detail with the cleanliness of the property - the extractor fan in the kitchen didn’t appear to have been cleaned in a very long time. We loved the location, the walks in the area, the cozy feel (we provided our own kindling/firewood for the log burner). We ate at the local pub which was very popular and well supported and if you have a smaller appetite most dishes are available as a smaller plate.

There was an unpleasant smell on entry to the property. The lounge and kitchen could do with a refresh. The paint work in the lounge was chipped. The bathroom ceiling had mould growing. Some of the wall tiles near the towel rail were broken. The beds were comfortable, however the sheet on the kingsize bed was stained and had black hair on it.

Riverside was perfect for our family holiday including six adults and four children aged between 10 months and 3.5 years. Beautiful tranquil location with lots of space outside for the toddler to run around although you had to be careful with the river. Very well equipped and clean with spacious bedrooms. We would certainly recommend it fro a family trip.

Our stay at Craignure Gardenstown was amazing. The arrangements were slick, the house was immaculate and the facilities were such high quality. Fair to say we were lucky with the cool and beautiful sunny weather but the house was so cosy. Views were amazing from the house. We loved our stay and will be back.

Such a magical week here at this stunning cottage with my dad and my 2 x children. To the stunning views on each floor, to the picture perfect pebble beach bay and gorgeous coastal walks. We had such a fantastic time. We live such hectic lives that it was fantastic to just relax and unwind. The bonus was that this cottage is pet free which I was delighted about as I have serious allergies. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our time here and wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

We recently stayed at Beck of Beyond in Hawkshead which is a lovely 2 bedroom lodge. We were greeted on arrival by a lovely gift package from the owners with a nice message and a lovely welcome. That was a very kind thought and much appreciated. The lodge was spotlessly clean (dog friendly isnt always!! But this lodge was very clean which was greatly appreciated as a careful dog owner myself). The private view at the back of the lodge overlooked the woods and a brook which made for a very tranquil stay. Lovely rocking chairs out on the patio to enjoy a morning brew which was very chilling. The weather unfortunately let our week down as it was rainy and cold but the lodge provided us with a cosy place to spend time and we appreciated the space and how well equipped the lodge was especially in the kitchen which was great as we did eat in quite a lot during our weeks stay as unfortunately the lakes cafe and pub prices were more expensive than our previous stays. Our only issues but not a complaint just an observation which we reported to sykes was the front door handle was a little loose so we were careful with it during the stay and reported it for maintenance and it was lockable so it did not hinder our stay. Also the freezer was very frosted up and we could not open the top ice draw without force so we left it alone and used the bottom drawer but it was very iced up on our arrival so maybe needed looking at by maintenance for future guests but nothing that hindered us. The lodge was very tastefully decorated and really comfortable with a great shower in the ensuite. I am currently slightly disabled after an accident on my leg so the walk in shower was very much appreciated although I would say it would be reassuring for oldies if you could add a suckered grab handle in the shower for safety. But just a personal preference as everything else was great and I would definitely stay there again. The bedding was lovely quality and very relaxing decor. We were next door to our family visiting from Isle of man they stayed in the lodge next door so it was great for being close to our family during the stay and we loved how doggy friendly it was for taking our pooch out in the mornings first thing and safe. A great stay we just had the weather against us unfortunately but dont think Sykes or the owners could have changed that for us!!! My only beef all week wasnt about the accommodation but about the car park charges in the lake district which are a complete rip off and that was a shame as the accommodation was spot on and we would definitely recommend this as a peaceful relaxing place to stay.
