“Roselle Cottage was everything we wanted - clean, very roomy, nice back garden and good location for us to visit Lincoln. We enjoyed our 6 days with our 2 collie dogs.”
“We had a great stay at Foreman's. The house is extremely comfortable and we were made very welcome by Guy, the owner. Winestead is perfect for visiting Beverley, Scarborough and Bridlington. Spurn nature reserve is very close and made an interesting day out - no dogs allowed past a certain point which was understandable.
Andrea, Julie and Beau the dog”
“We enjoy staying atEverdene. In fact this was our 3rd visit. It is liike a home from home. The beds are comfy and the place is always well cleaned. The only thing lacking is a few kitchen items such a oven shelves and grill rack together with a few utensils. We also think the TV is a bit small and difficult to use.”
“I don't know what has happened to Sykes as a company! I've tried to address some issues with them to be completely fobbed off.
I've been a loyal customer of theirs for many years but that will now stop!!
They do not visit properties they are advertising to make sure pictures are accurately illustrating the place.
Appalling!”
“Lovely stay in Bamburgh. Fabulous property, super clean with all the amenities and equipment you could possibly need. Great communication throughout and would highly recommend. 10/10”
“Lovely quaint and cosy accommodation with a nice pub with good food a few hundred yards from the door so you can’t get better than that! It’s small and compact but you felt there was plenty of room due to the layout for us two and the dog. It was well equipped and well maintained with a very comfortable bed with a good welcome pack with all essentials. It was a good location where we did a nice circular walk which started just over the road.Although It was a quiet village the road was like a main road with lots of traffic throughout the night which was a bit noisy but I had earplugs that did the trick. Also the front door was very close to the road so had to be careful with the dog to make sure she didn’t run out. Parking space out the front was alright but it says in the information sheet you have to move it in the day or park in the barn which wasn’t easy to get into. Parking elsewhere in the village was limited.
We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would go back. Easy booking and good communication from Sykes as well.”
“We were very pleased with our first Sykes Cottage stay. Good communication and updates from the moment of booking, cottage was as advertised. Would certainly use them again.”
“The process of communication or trying to with Sykes Cottages is deliberately obtuse and complicated.
I recently tried to get a resolution before going on holiday and was left 24 hours on your WhatsApp service. I ended up having to use your landline number which is, of course, hidden on your website.”
“I have been going up to the isle of lewis for 33 years. Where i stayed at number 11 knock was by far the best accommodation. The cottage was immaculate and was so warm and comfortable. Providing everything you could possibly need and more. It was so peaceful and quiet, only noise being this years lambs in the next field. I would recommend 11 knock to anyone wanting comfort touching on luxury.”
“Caravan was spotless and modern, perfectly situated near Reception and the beach. The sister hotel is a 2 minute walk and serves great food. Only a 30 minute drive to the base of Scafell Pike. Would highly recommend!”
“Stayed at this property at the end of September 2025 for 3 nights. Lovely property- nice and clean.
Very convenient for Clitheroe town centre which is only a 10 minute walk away from main town centre.
A bit an uphill walk.
Information folder available for local amenities.
Railway station very close by.
The property has everything you need.
Main bedroom - king-size- spacious and nice. Wardrobe in Room. This room is on the front of the house.
Twin bedroom spacious - has a hanging rail for clothes. I would say though take an adapter for plugging in electrica items- as the sockets are on skirting board and you cannot plug moulded plugs on appliances safely. This bedroom is on the side of the house.
Double bedroom at the rear of the property isn't very big - very hard to walk round the other side of the bed (Double bed) It had a clothes rail for hanging clothes up. It is a very cramped room in my opinion. It would be very hard for someone to navigate if they had to get round the bed.
It has curtains - but it really needs some blinds in there for privacy as it overlooks properties to the back.
The upstairs bathroom is nice size. Window covering was a very thin voile curtain. Once again
I would say privacy is an issue if the light is on - it really could do with a window blind as the bathroom is on the side of the property and is overlooked by adjacent properties.
Kitchen is very nice.
Nice lounge - but I would say to the owners -please get the double plug socket sorted on the side of as it looks like its not fitted into the wall correctly(chimney breast side).
Downstairs bathroom is a lovely shower room. And the back door is accessed through here.
Patio doors from the dining room lead to outside rear yard. Be careful when it rains though - as there is a very large puddle of water outside these doors if its been raining hard.
A pleasant stay for us here.”
“Absolutely perfect for what we wanted. Caterer for all. Amazing property with a stunning view. Couldn’t have been happier here, we can’t wait to rebook! Thanks again”
“Excellent property, very well appointed, spacious, and immaculately clean. Every detail has been considered in Lower Lodge and we would love to return. The area is rural but with easy access to amenities in Cupar, St Andrews and the wider area. We loved exploring Fife and there's plenty to do for families with young children and lots of lovely beaches for our 4 legged friends.”
