“The cottage is excellent and great location.
However there was a few problems . We discovered the single bed linen had not been changed and found a used makeup wipe under pillow. There was no starter wood for log burner as stated in booking information.No additional bin liners. The shower did not stay hot if run for more than a few minutes. So sorry to leave a complaint but it looks like the cottage was only cleaned in a rush”

“I booked an apartment in Dartmouth through Sykes Cottages and the process was so easy.
Once booked, I received full directions to Dartmouth, the office and the apartment itself nearer the time and was also sent a reminder.
Picking up and dropping off the keys was straightforward and the staff were very friendly.”
“The cottage we used, Barton Lodge, was a wonderfully presented property with many period features and set in a peaceful location a short (15 minute stroll) way from the centre of Porlock. It was surgically clean and although heated via electric radiators, it became warm and cosy very quickly. The owners have tried very hard to accommodate all likely requirements and we would definitely use this property again.”
“Generally very happy with Sykes apart from the final communication that they sent to us about the change to the key code WAS NOT made clear to us. The email just refers to a reminder of the details, NOT that you must read your email as it has an update on your arrival arrangements. This would have been helpful and should be considered for future bookings.”

Cottage was superbly equipped. from the kitchen to the games.
To arrive and find the cottage decorated for Christmas was a lovely extra.

“Lovely house, well fitted out with all the facilities one needs for a short break. Given the cleaners had been in it was disappointing the coffee machine would not work as it required a special clean. Also the heating was a challenge as the main part of the house was one large space and keeping the entire room warm was difficult. The bedrooms downstairs were also cold regardless of thermostat setting. A great location and excellent for a summer stay, if the heating was sorted good for The winter too.”

“We had a lovely week staying in The Dean. The property was so well equipped and the photos do not do it justice. The kitchen had everything and more than you need. The beds were so comfy and bedrooms spacious. The lounge has a huge modern TV with Sky and a Sonos sound system and two large comfy sofas. The garden is not secure so had to take the dog out on a lead, but we already k ew this and was not a problem. Strolling distance into town so perfect location. Hopefully we will return again soon”
“We have stayed in a number of Sykes Cottages and never been disappointed. However the last one was not just good but fantastic. I have walking problems and so this cottage was ideal. All on one level, very well equipped in a superb location with gardens to ramble round, a lake with ducks and geese plus other facilities available in the site. We will be booking a return visit very shortly.”
