“This was the third year in a row we have stayed in this beautiful cottage and have already booked for 2026.
Our previous minor gripes regarding the quality of the cutlery and kitchen utensils have been addressed - thank you as we are avid home cooks. There was an absence of a corkscrew that caused a major panic however procured one in Grasmere which we donated to the cottage!
We also appreciated the fact that the drive to the cottage whilst still bumpy had been greatly improved.
This was the first year that noise from the main adjoining house could be heard although it was a very large group with children, however did not overly bother us.”

“Amazing little place. Had a fab time. Everything you need for a quiet relaxing break. The property had every thing you needed. Enclosed garden for the dog. Due to Storm Bram, tge fence was blown over so had to contact owner but this was rectified straight away. Will drfo be returning. Lovely little welcome hamper with dog treats aswell. Nice touch .”
“My wife and returned to Walton House Cottage for a pre-Christmas break. Christine had the cottage decorated like before. The cottage was lovely and warm and although the weather was wet the hot tub was wonderful. I fully expect we will return to Walton House Cottage in the not too distant future.”
“A great variety of holiday apartments, houses and other great places are offered by Sykes. It's always in the best locations, seafront in our case, or close! All well furnished, equipped and styled in a cosy way, and all with a large amount of luxury and style. We have been renting our holidayhomes for many years now, and hardly ever disappointed! Hopefully my wife and I will be able to continue for many years to come 😉👍🏻”
“We had a lovely restful time at Hope Cottage. The cottage was beautiful full of character and charm. We visited several National Trust properties in the area enjoying the Christmas themed experiences there. We also went to Rosemoor for the seasonal lights which were magical. We had relaxing cosy evenings by the woodburner. Altogether a perfect break to recharge before the Christmas rush.”

“Despite ending up leaving the booked accommodation a day early due to an ongoing heating issue ( the owners said they would advise Sykes of the situation) we have had no contact from anyone at sykes.....I feel this is poor customer service”
